I too got a PM from a stranger on the RL board. But I don't want to change my religion and this seems more like a quasi-religious organization.

kinda just "rules for life"....

That is a very cool site! Some good, interesting stuff there.
I like the part where Obi-wan says to Yoda:
"What satisfaction can the Jedi have in killing, when it is the tyrants who are killing? Wouldn't we become just like them deeming what is right to what is wrong? Destroying and injuring sentient species, claiming ... "
Hmmmm.........

I also like the part on meditation...I really always kinda wanted to know how to meditate...on anything...and this gives you a basic "how to"..
and the basic Jedi "mantra" if you will....
"The Force rests within the heart of all"....
some very powerful stuff...

Sorry to sound so cynical but I am uncomfortable receiving PM's from strangers whose name I've never seen before. And even more so when that person has apparently sent a PM to everyone on the RL board.
Since you have checked out the site & found it interesting I will check it out also.

Wow! I was hoping that somebody out there has something on Jedi Philosophy. It has been said that The Jedi Order has some of its foundations in Eastern Philosophy, and that Jedi supposedly had volumes of information on Ther Jedi Code.

Too true Amber...apparently a lot of folks at the RL were very angry that they got spammed by this person. And if any of you get spammed too....well....at least it is a spam of some interest to us. I get so much spam from everything from cider vinegar diets to growing hair (yeah...I need more hair)...anyway...this spam didn't bother me because at least it is something of interest....and no...I certainly don't take any of it seriously as far as "joining the religion"....I just found it very interesting... I really am sorry if this person causes any of you a headache...I hope it doesn't...

Well, I was not bothered at all by this person. I can always delete it. I did not feel that in any way that she was imposing any religion on me. I felt that this was more of a way of life that this Maji has found...I found it enlightening and very entertaining.
There are people in this world that want to find a true peace to their lives and are willing to take it to the next level. We all consider this world our hobby and we have our reality that we live in daily. These people want to incorporate the philosophy of this hobby into their daily lives and I see nothing wrong with that.
She only posted it on the forums where people come and passionately talk about being in the world of Jedi.. I noticed in her pm that she also said that she apologized if she had offended anyone, that she thought that we would be intrested in seeing how others drew on the Jedi way of life. If you ask me, alot of the people at the Rebel Legion reminded me of the Puritans at the witch trials in Salem in the 1500s. Let someone a little different come to light and they panic saying that their space was invaded. The RL is a public forum. Everyone there should know that. What ever they talk about is read by hundreds everyday....hell, even the government takes notice. Their computers are designed to pick up terrorist words. None of us are in a secure place while on the internet. I was saddened that most of them believe in the Jedi way but did not show the kindness for someone new and different.....
Although this is my hobby, I do believe in the Jedi philosophy and whether anyone wants to realize it or not; this way of true life was around long before George Lucas ever brought it to the big screen.....but my main thought here is don't get upset at something so benign. Get upset if someone comes on and starts spouting malacious words of terrorism and threatening your way of life.....
Sorry, I didn't mean to rant.............

Em, you misunderstood the ruckus at the RL board. That person did not first post in the public forums. She went thru the listing of members & sent all of us a PM thru our board. Some she also sent e-mails to on top of the PMs. She is not a member of the RL nor had she ever posted there before she started PMing people thru that board. That's what upset everyone. If she had first posted her link to the website in one of the public forums and then later PM'd or e-mailed people who were interested there would have been no problems or complaints. But for her to go thru the list of members and send PM's to everyone was not right.

Did anyone notice the StarGate on the front of the book? Kinda of a neat image.
Man I hope the writter's of Star Gate SG-1 don't have a cow, I also hope the 'Gate's image isn't a copywritted thing. :-) I read the ENTIRE website. It's intersting, but nothing new to me though.
I wonder if this woman does costuming? Would she come by here?
