Well, I got my custom made Kyle Katarn boots today from Carlos Diaz at TheLeatherBoutique on eBay. I will post pictures when I can.
I can say the leather is VERY nice. Much softer and more flexible than the Jedi boots he made for me last year. I am happy with that.
The only problem I have is I had requested 4 special modifications to the boots. I requested these mods twice, once in a detailed drawing (that is posted elsewhere in these forums), and one in an email to confirm a second time.
Twice Mister Dias responded that he could make the boots with the requested modification, no problem.
They arrived without one of the requested mods.
I will keep this community posted as to the outcome of this situation. I am confident that Mister Diaz will stand behind his product, and help to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
How he handles this, for good or ill, will say much about his character and his business integrety.
I will let you know how it works out.

This doesn’t build my confidence in this guy. I have heard a lot of positive things about him. So I was going to go with him when the time comes. Please keep us updated.

i like my diaz boots...though mine werent specially modified. tanthos....too small is easier to fix with leather than too big....it's possible you could stretch them....contact a local kobbler about the best way to go about doing it. also....for anyone ordering custom made boots of any kind....i suggest getting detailed instructions for measurements...then going to a local kobbler and let them make the proper measurements...based on the manufacturer's instructions.

I believe it would be easier to remove leather than try to stretch it. stretching can be done at home....probably (depending on the amount of stretch needed)...but to remove leather and restitch it...would likely need to be done by a pro.... koda...sorry to go off topic here...look foward to seeing your boots.

UPDATE: About a month ago I sent Mr. Diaz an email with a proposed solution to my boots problem. I asked that he either send me the correct zippers and cover the cost of having them installed locally, or else re-make the boots and let me know when they were ready and I'd send back the other ones. I did not hear from him after that, and was about ready to give up on him and just keep the other boots. This morning early I got an email saying that my boots had cleared customs in Florida and were ready to ship to my home. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised! He went ahead and re-made the boots from scratch without telling me! Hopefully there will be no issues with the replacement pair. I will keep you posted. If everything looks good this will be without a doubt the BEST customer service I have ever received! ~ Vonnor

Wow....Awesome!!
I have decided to keep my boots. They have loosened up a lot and even though they don't zip up all the way, they are very comfortable and still well worth every penny!!

Here is a little bit of info on one of the jedi boot makers on e-bay: Motorcowboy. While the company has it's headquarters in Arizona, the boots I recieved came to Canada from South America (Guatemala or Argentina.) I've noted that the fella selling boots from the leather Boutique on e-bay is probably doing the same thing, so if anything goes wrong on the manufacturing side he's caught by surprise too. I've encountered people who purchased equestrian riding boots from the Diaz, their feedback ranged from very good to mildly displeased; though I noticed the fitting problems were happening to guys with larger foot sizes. In the end (after many months of waiting) the boots did get replaced from the manufacturing side of this operation. My suggestion is patience I've seen Diaz boots on folks and they do look good.

Motorcowboy's manufacturing is done in Southeast Asia. Leather Boutique's is done in SOuth America I believe. But Carlos is a native Spanish speaker. Not sure of his country of residence or of origin though.
Carlos has been working with us at Crazy Old Wizards to get his Obi-Wan boots up to screen accurate and has been very receptive to feedback, pictures, rants, and raves about the tiniest of design details so far. Says a lot for the guy. Especially since Jim for MC flat out won't accept criticism of his design or accept changes be made.
Everytime I have heard of someone having a fitment problem, he fixed it. Only the people who give up on the matter rather than try don't get the problem resolved.

I ordered my Anakin boots directly from him in slightly bigger size, so I believe it can pit me later on. So in that way, I wouldn't complain about my boots getting small on me.
I'm happy with the boots I have.
