so far, the only thorn in my side in assembling my sith/jedi costume is the boot situation. i have the double whammy, size 13 wide and a 19" calf. now i am no stranger to a pair of high cut boots(being in the technical trade field). since i cant find any acceptable boots in my price range, i'm debating using my 3/4 calf SWAT issues ( www.magnumboots.com/tacticalboots/8152.html) with a set of half chaps or spats. if done correctly, would such a set up be allowed in say the rebel legion, and here?

If the chaps cover the laces that would be find. Ones I've seen don't, though. Spats probably would. An alternative would be a short zip or pull on boot (without laces) with the half-chaps or spats.

i'll be making these half chaps anyway, so i can fit them to cover the laces. and with those boots, it wont be a problem. only thing i credit the police for, they use good boots.
