So does anyone know what sites are out there for riding boots? I want to check into something about the different styles and things like that.

plenty of sites everywhere in many countries. price is the main issue I've seen.......seems they expect you to actually have money at most of the sites....... Just google for "riding boots" and use 'Images'. You'll see plenty of colors, heights, etc.

Obi-1: Great photos! Pictures are good. Have you tried searching on e-bay for boots. There are plenty of regular dealers who also sell on e-bay. These are the searches that get the most relevant results for me: "Jedi boots" "brown riding boots 7.5" "brown riding boots 7 1/2" "brown knee boots 7.5" "brown knee boots 7 1/2" "motorcycle boots" The 7.5 and 7 1/2 is my shoe size; there's not point in sifting through things that won't fit. "Knee boots" seems to yeild only women's boots that have a lot of useless high-heeled things, but sometimes some good things show up. For a man in the US, just add 1 1/2 to your size and you have the equivalent in a women's size. "Motorcycle boots" are almost always too short, but you never know what might show up. And since Pirates of the Carribean has come out, my guess is that tall boots will be more available for men. So, try: "Brown pirate boots" Stay away from pointy toes! Your boots will make you sorry and the Jedi boots in the movies have rounded toes anyway. EDIT: I was just looking around on e-bay; unfortunately there isn't a lot there. Summer is the worst time of year to look for high boots. New boot fashions come out in the fall; that's when the selection will increase.

Ani - Thanks for the advice, I have tried ebay but like you said they are harder to find during the summer months. I will keep checking untill I find what I am looking for... they are out there somewhere.

Those look great! Where did you get them? I had them custom ordered from my regular boot maker, who spacialises in riding boots, Silverado boots and Camarini shoes. My boot maker is an oldtimer and don't have a website or use the net, so everything had to be done the old fashion way (phone, fax, snail mail). That's why it took a few months to get Seda his boots.
I also came up with a measuring guide to extract measurements so the fit would be correct.

Those look pretty good. How much did they cost? When I ordered them back in May they were 225 shipped. With the recent across-the-board inflation here due to the fuel price hike I'd have to find out if that price still stands...

Not to toot my own horn, but for $517 ($449.00+$68 shipping) I expected a pair of better quality boots. Unless of course, those photos don't do it justice...

maybe a TJA group order with price break! ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? I doubt a group order would shave much off the price of the boot itself, because the amount of leather used is fixed(and the price is going up all the time), and each pair is hand made.
However if someone took charge of the group buy from your end and I send the whole order to one person, who then send out individual order using domestic shipping, that could save some on total shipping.
Maybe someone should start a new thread to gauge the level of interest?

that price is still very high, if you want a specific character's boots, then its good, but the price is so high. for a third the price you can get a pair of boots that are just as good for your costume.
