Any pics of the ones you found that were suitable? As I understand it, there are (or certainly were) several members who have had difficulty finding suitable boots... Your link might be the help they need

Here are my Iridonian boots. Bought the bases from walmart. Took them to a shoe specialist who glued and attached cowhide leather to bring them up to my knees. The straps are non-functional. Spray painted them with many coats of Nu-Life shoepaint. I was going for a quasi-Mace/Agen kolar look. Roughly how the boots looked before customization:

Those are nice! How tall were they when you bought them, I'm guessing where the straps start?

Those look like very nice boots to me! How to they feel? Are they broken in? That makes all the difference, no matter how nice they look.

I've posted a "before" pic. See my post above.
The boots are quite comfortable and "broken" into. I've worn them to several events already.

very nice indeed. I may have to go that route in order to get boots to fit my calves. I need at least 20" calves if anything more than my leg is going into them (maybe 21").

Boot modification...probably the way I'll have to go.

Boot modification does sound reasonable.
I did my own belts and pouches, so I am wondering how difficult it would be? A lot of the Jedi boots in the movies, look like modified, regular boots anyway.

it would be so much easier if GL would just come out and say "Spats" wouldn't it?

$50 for boots at walmart. $130 for material and labor (this will vary depending who you take it to.). $5 for nu-life shoe paint. Hope it helps out. Thanks for the compliments everyone.
