I just ordered a pair of those Roaman's boots in the brown.
I just hope they aren't too wide for my calves, or I'll need to take them in a bit.

I got a pair of of boots that look nice, but the calves are very straight up and down. They fit fine, but I don't really like the look; my calves do have some shape to them; I like there to be some taper to them.

wouldnt a shoe repair be able to take parts of it in to give you some shape?
also, i have a quick question on boots with the tja. i know the code says no black, but is it ok if the boots are black, and nothing else?

Yes. One or the other, or both can be black. Article V-3
...At this time, black belts and boots ARE acceptable, but this may be subject to change at a later date.

Will you please notify me well in advance of 7-27 if this changes? In short there's a good chance I'm going to recieve a pair of VERY EXPENSIVE all purpose (costuming included) boots for my birthday. The boots do come in a different color than black, but I've already expressed interest in the black ones. I'd just like to know before my parents throw such a large sum of money into something I can't use as I'd wished. Thanks in advance. [edit to correct spelling]

I may customize my boots, once I get them. Like adding a strap or two.
Or I may just leave them alone. I'll decide later, once I get them, which should be soon. I can't wait.
I've been wearing shorter black boots and need some "proper" brown Jedi boots. Especially now that I'm having a new dark brown outer tunic, obi and tabards being made for me.

[edit to correct spelling] If it makes more sense for you to get the black ones, then do it... I don't forsee any changes in that rule in the near future. If you are only going to use the boots for your jedi costume, then I'd tell you to go with brown, but since you have other uses in mind, you might as well get your money's worth out of your investment. And your belt is brown, right?

How close to your size can you get? If you can get within two sizes, I'd say buy them and some leather relaxer and stretch them out. They may be 'a bit snug' to start with, but they will stretch

2 sizes is about an inch in length, no amt of streching will get them to fit comfortably, I think. As for the calf shaft, a little to big will leave room for the pants, and breathing space when hot is good.
