Which Jedi master had shorter boots? If any Jedi has shorter boots in any of the movies then the boots are OK. But personally, I think that the talller boots are more recognizable as Jedi boots because most Jedi wear them.

The height of the boot does vary from a couple of Jedi, but most wear about the top of the calf (about 4-5 inches below the knee) to knee high,

well that rules out my buying a pair somewhere most likely. I am also a bit of a freak of nature...my calves measure 19" round (too much football as a teen) and I can never find affordable high boots to fit over them. I have a pair of custom made Catskill Mt. Moccasins from years ago that had to be under the calf 'cause the maker said my calves were so wide and narrowed at the knee so much that tall boots would simply fall down.

What faire did you get your Catskill's at? You need to look for a site that carries a boot w/ wide calfs. I started out w/ a pair that were quite short & had a shoe repair guy modify them, had him add a top pc. & side zippers & some staps & buckles, wan't to unreasonable, and you're here in the city so you could go to him, plus, you don't need to do it all at once. Bunch of us are going to Ren faire in Aug. want to go to?

Donovan was a good friend of mine & made my first 3 pairs of boots, 2 of which I still have. His were very high quality. I doubt that you're as old as I am, so you're not old yet. Sorry you won't be able to make it.
