Keep looking, you really want them to be comfortable, this is just the beginning of the fall/winter boot season so you should find something you like and that is comfortable.

Hello it is the not so confussed Master Darken agin I think if I can I'll ed up with a jedi coutume that has diffrent looks for diffrent missions. The doc's a re cool but I thought of something what if the laces got tangled up in a missin trying to escape or something. So I'll figure out an alternative or a cool way to cover them. Oh yeah I saw some knee high boots at wal mart Black for about $16 but they kinda hurt my feet. You could try getting some after market insoles to put in your boots. One of the biggest problems with my boots was that they really hurt my feet while I was at Celebration 2. Standing around, and not having soft soles can really hurt. As for your docs, you could try something like this: Make something for the appearance of the horse-riding look boots. Get some leather, or whatever material works best. You can cover up the laced portion of your boots with these covers that will go over the tops of your docs, and up the calf. It's basically an illusion.

Hey good Idea nick. I know in horse catalogs you can get like half chaps tath just go over youre boots. Their kinda like Gators that people who hike alost wear but they fit muck tighter. I know the docs would be way more comfortable than anything I saw on motercycle cowboy.com even theough they have very cool replica boots anyone have any and if so are they comfortable? Replica boots i'm talkin. I know the docs are and they last forever.

If I ever get around to it...I am going to try to make those "spat-y" or "chap-y" thingies.....my boots are reasonably comfortable...I wore them at Celebration II and did a LOT of walking...they are extremely plain and I hope to dress them up before Celebration III....I know at my age at least my feet ain't gonna grow anymore!!
I have seen leather scraps for sale on E-bay at very reasonable prices.

Has anyone seen the new Fanfares at Wal-Mart? They're women's boots, but since most of ya're female.... ::shrugs:: Anyways, I was wondering if anyone thinks they'll work. The only problem I can find is that there's this little piece of stretchy stuff on the back, instead of leather.

I have seen the boots you speak of and have tried them on. I think they would work fine and considering you would probobly be wearting a robe no one would see the back. I didn't think they were very confy on my toes and across the area right behind my toes. If you plan on being in coustume for long periods of time Ie celebration three halloween and anything like that I would not get them cause they hurt my feet but I think they are pretty close Xana also sent this over to me I might try themhttp://www.lbcatalog.com/lbcatalog/product/product.asp?pf_id=31570&cts8%2F26%2F2002+11%3A12%3A04+AM=1&name=cts8%2F26%2F2002+11%3A12%3A04+AM. I'm very picky about my shoes I'm considering 21 hole docs then geting like leather or suede chaps for over the laces they are really price $100 to$200 but they last forever are well made and I can wear them with almost everything. But we will see I really liked these at Laynn Bryant

Those are most commonly called half-chaps. I've seen some in some of the online catalgos I've viewed, and they seem like a decent budget minded choice.

Miller's Tack or Kaufman's I know the names are right, but am not sure what they call their catalogues, I haven't had a horse in 30 years.

Hey, I talked my mom into getting the Fanfares. LOL You shoulda seen the look on her face. She already thinks there's something wrong, 'cause I like medieval times and don't mind wearing tights. But when I asked for boots out of the women's department... heehee!
Women's feet are really narrow though. I had to get a size bigger just so I could get the ball of my foot in. But other than that, they were pretty comfortable.
