I always thought it was Obi Wan when QG dies.

The novelization confirms it as Qui-Gon

*Luke probably had an impure heart when fighting Vader on Cloud City so would get no help from the ghosties.*
Not entirely correct, Sirithor, Obi-wan advised him that if he "choose to fight Vader you will do it alone, I cannot interefere", meaning that you are warned you are not ready to take on such a heavy burden, but since you are willfully going against our council, you must face whatever consequences on your own.

Also, on another note, JadenKorr, it couldn't be Obi-wan because he was on Geonosis and he didn't even know what Anakin was doing or where he was, because as far as he was concerned, Anakin was still on Naboo protecting Senator Amidala.

Even though Qui-Gon's "NOOO!" wasn't in TPM, they probably had filmed it then cut it, so it would have been really him, not just a computer voice imitating Liam Neeson.

and....supposedly...the biggest and most guarded secret about ROTS is the Liam Neeson appears as Qui-Gon.....the footage was supposed to have been filmed under the most security....and will answer the great question of why some of the Jedi's bodies disappear...and why some didn't....
I look VERY forward to seeing Qui-Gon again..

Me, too, Schph I read an interview with both Liam and Samual L. in which Liam all but said he will appear.

sorry going back on the new movie (rots) if when ever you die and come back as a spirit your body disappears why didnt qui-gons after he got killed if hes ment to come back as a spirit in rots so in my opinion i think yoda hears qui-gon like the "nooooooo" not hears him because then you have an explaination of the non disappearing body

Aayla, The explanation should be in Episode III. However the short answer (for now) is that at the time of TPM, the Jedi do not have the power yet to come back as spirits. If you look at the Geonosis battle in Ep II, there are a lot of dead Jedi who did not dissappear as well.

i know that but thats because they do not posses the knowlege to return as a spirit otherwise you would see nealr 150+ jedi spirits randomly walking around, the jedi need be taught it hence why yoda and obiwan get taught

I read somewhere (I forget where) that the reason Qui-Gonn's body didn't dissapear was that (at the time) he didn't know how to retain his form when becoming one with the Force, only his consciousness. In keeping with current spirituality, it's possible that Qui-Gon was acting as Anakin's 'spirit guide' (or just in visitation at the time) and although Anakin couldn't hear him, Master Yoda could because he was meditating.

qui-gon didnt dissapear because he didnt have the knowledge but after he was dead he learned and told yoda and yoda was like qui-gon i now become your apprentice because qui-gon taught yoda the skill and then yoda told obi-wan and obi-wan learned to or at least thats the rough sketch of it i think

Exactly... I read that too... it's in the RotS novel, but I read it before that... somplace else.
