Just got back from Barnes and Noble, and found a story that includes the fate of Sifo Dyas. The book is the Star Wars Visionaries. The story is about Greivous and how he became what he is. After the shuttle crash and when he is floating in a bacta tank, it mentions that he needs a blood transfusion before they can start the experiment to make him a cyborg. It then cuts to Dooku and he unviels a cryogentic tank with Sifo Dyas in it. They used Sifo Dyas' blood to help rebuild the general. And Greivous' first lightsaber is Sifo Dyas' saber.

Oh, I have that book! It's a compilation of comics by the visual artists who worked on the SW movies. I read some of it, not all of it yet. I'll have to go look for that story! I like the one with Darth Maul!

Ya, I thought the one with Maul was great, and how Obi-Wan just sprang out of the sand. He's using very keen skills at watching out for Luke.

I'm not sure what the expanded universe says about the character but I remember reading somewhere that the charcter was originally written as "Sido Dias" in the EP2 script (aka. Sidious), but george thought that wuold be too obvious. so in typical lucas fashion he transposed a single letter to the next one on the alphabet. D-->F. and the name became "Sifo Dias" instead.. but the implication in the Kamino scene was still (suposed to be) that the army was ordered by Sidous.
*shrug*

I'm just grateful that Warren Fu, the artist who drew Sifo Dyas, used his own face as the model for the character. As a result, Sifo Dyas is now the 2nd Asian male Jedi (that I know of) in Star Wars canon! More importantly, I now have a canon lightside character I can base my costume on to join Rebel Legion! YAY! (Now, all I need to do is pass the California Bar exam so I can have time to tend to my new hobby!)
