Brown or Tan are Canon. None of the Jedi wear a black robe, unless you do an EXACT replica of Luke in ROTJ.

hmm... my robe is kinda an olive green - I know it's not 100% cannon, but it's still an earthen color instead of black. would that be kosher?

Might be as an EU thing, but if you're volunteering at CIII, they are only accepting movie cannon Jedi at this time.

I don't think I'll have to worry about that, as I can't come up with the money for CIII

I have at least 1 tunic that's an odd shade of khaki, sorta green-grey-taupe, I like it, but I might throw it in a brown dye bath after Dragon Con. I either wear it with brown or cream stuff, so, it's cannon enough for now, I made it for an Arena tunic, as my others are very formal.

What's the talk about "Arena Tunics" vs. "Formal Tunics"? Didn't all the Jedi wear the same stuff in the arena, like Mace, Ki, Obi, Ani, and Kit?

I was using the term to differentiate the more "I'm on a diplomatic mission" type of long tunic that I wear, nat.cream coloured silk noile, from the shorter more ready for action style tunic that is based on the styles worn in the arena battle in Ep II. When the Rebel Legion says formal it means Canon, but I meant the shorter one was a more dueling capable style than I usually wear. Actually if you look at all the Jedi, they all wear similar styles with a lot of individual details and colour variations. My "arena" tunic is just above knee length with slits in the shirt over the front thighs, and has shorter sleeves than my longer tunic, thus it's a far better style to go into an "agressive negotiation" type of situation. They are both Jedi, just different functions in the intent of the style.
