Oh dear. Outch. So what'll you be this year? DO you have pictures of your Darth Maul? Nova, . Shoot common sense says get 'em both things. Guess some folks can be whaky. .. :-( I have gotten the fingers stick together with superglue cuz it had dripped on them during a repair.. I always have the superglue solvent for that purpsoe, so no mishaps.:-D (That stuff's wonderful.) If you've no superglue solvent to unstick fingers, acetone works(Nail polish remover). How much does the pro adhesives and remover cost? It is in small bottles? I'm going whacko trying to find stuff that'll stay.(Nuttin worse then something slidding off your head. .) Ris'sa and I were talking about various types. I've oily skin on the places I'd have the applience and I do sweat, so I'd need a fixident that'll make it stay put.

Yep, I sure do have pics. Some where. If I can't find then then I will I will take some of the costume. I love it. It's a great piece. If I can beg my wife enough, I want to shave my head again and be DM. Jango and Boba are on manaquins (?) at my parents house. So I can't be them. I just ran out of room in the house and the wife didn't want them in the bedroom. "They are looking at us." Geez.
Ya know, I did buy the remover. But I thought because the first two came off so easy, the others would too. I won't do that again.

If you're going to call, call after 1pm est but before 8pm best time before school lets out of at about 7:45 when it's dying down for the day, but call before the middle of Oct. No call are allowed during the last 2 weeks. Too Crazy!!!!!

wow........that is a funny story....only funny now that it is over...but I am sure you were not laughing when it happened...184 stitches.....man....that is a lot of thread....you could have sewed yourself a robe with all that thread.....lol....
please make sure that don't repeat that ......stupid question...did your hair grow back ok?
what fabric will your robe be made of?
I have two robes...and am contemplating a third....the first one is out of "ultra-suede"...looks nice.....but fabric is a little tacky.... the second is out of cotton/linen blend....better fabric...but wrinkles like crazy...and am not happy about the "flow".....not too much "billow"....lol...
the last one....well....to be a little more accurate...I guess I will have to look for wool....that is the "canon" fabric.....a little hot around here for wool...but it can be used sometimes.....
congrats on your robe!

Nope. My hair did not grow back. I have a pretty good line of scar tissue on my head from those things. Plus a bigger one from Jr. High school. So my head is one big scar tissue filled blob. You can't really tell though. When the wind blows, you can really tell. I have had some people ask me if I was in a bad accident when I was younger.
My robe will be out of wool. Because in Arizona, we have those nasty snow storms and I want something to keep me warm. No, really, I wanted something like the movie, so I wanted wool. She said it will be like Obi-Wan's in Ell. Hope so. Ok SG, which one of your robes do you like better? The ultra or the blend? I'll get my wife to bring home the digital camera from work. That one is better than ours. I'll take some pics of the horns and costume tonight.

I like each for different reasons.... the ultra-suede cause it flows better and doesn't wrinkle.... and the cotton/linnen cause it has more texture and is a natural fabric.....
I guess it is a must that I make the wool one...combine the best of both worlds....

You make your own? That is so cool. I have so much respect for people who can sew. It's a lot harder than it looks. Yes, you have to make one.

Sewing a robe on a sewing machine is easy. With a serger even better. SG did most of hers by hand, a true Master! And AZ, you can sew, practice on an obi or tabbards.

Thanks for the encouragement amber. This might sound lazy or taking the easy way out, but I would rather have someone make it for me. I had an accident with one a while ago. And to be honest, I am a little scared of them. One of these days I will try it. Maybe.

AZFarmboy, are you accident prone? It sounds like you had a run in with a sewing machine. I know quite a few people that have sewn there fingers on a machine, it's a costumers occupational hazard. I've never done it, surprising, I sometimes sew half asleep, and when I get at an industrial, I sew at maniac speeds. After Halloween, I'm getting an industrial machine, I really want one. No idea, where I'll fit it yet. I haven't figured out where to set up the new machine I bought last Sunday.

Ok. Well almost has backed up a little. B- the laby who was making for me didn't ship it. She said she didn't like the way it turned out. So, she will be starting it again. So , another two weeks. But at least she was honest and likes to be satisfied with her work. I really can't blame anyone for that. I am the same way. It just bums me out that I have to wait. But, that way I can learn more patience. Oh. Is that spelled right? Well maybe I can also learn to spell. Geez. All that money for college and I still can't spell.
