Prologue A LONG TIME AGO, IN A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY… EMPEROR’S REVENGE
Over a century has gone by since the Republic-Empire treaty has been signed. The republic has survived and stabilized with the Empire as an ally. However several high-ranking officers from the empire have gone missing, particularly those with military power. The empire suspects fowl play from the republic, however they would not put it past some members of the Empire to betray them.
The Republic beseeched the Jedi Council to help prove their innocence. The council whole-heartily agreed to search for the evil behind the disappearances. They felt it to be in the galaxy’s best interest to finish this before it starts in fear of another galactic civil war. They immediately dispatched 10 Jedi to investigate.
Two Jedi, Jaunka Jadmar and Tenn’Dia Vrei, were sent to On-Bisorr, a tropical planet with two large cities at either of the poles. They left the academy two standard days ago, and should already have arrived…

Chapter I A small freighter hung in the deep blackness of space. Only a hyperspace jump away from On-Bisorr, hit the control panel. “What’s wrong with you now you hunk of JUNK!” the Jedi half yelled. He stood up from his pilots’ chair, storming out of the control room. Immediately outside he removed an access panel. Various colored lights flickered on and off as Jaunka’s eyes stared, trying to decipher the meaning of the NEW problem. “Ah “ he said to himself noting the red light by the hyperdive AND sublight engines. He turned and walked father down the hallway taking long strides. He stopped at a steel-gray door and paused as the obsolete craft compiled the data. Emitting a low hissing noise, the hatchway opened, reveling a cylindrical hatchway with metallic cross braces serving as a ladder. Jaunka started to climb down, fuming. This was the third time the Barrage broke down, it’s practically ancient. Nearly a century and a half old, it was still left from the clone wars. First the communications went, then the shields, now the engines, Jaunka was ready to crawl inside a life pod. His feet hit the floor as he turned, only to be showered with a rainfall of sparks. Instinctively covering his eyes, he cursed again, unhooked a comlink from his belt. “Tenn’Dia we have an electrical problem with the hyperdrive engines, check out what’s wrong with the sublight engines.” Jaunka said.

Tenn’Dia opened her eyes at the sound of Jaunka’s voice. She rolled over and slapped her bluish hand on the comlink. “Come on Ka! I just finished the shield system,” she mumbled from drowsiness. She had called Jaunka “Ka” since he’d picked her to be his apprentice. “I know, but we’ll never get to On-Bisorr if you don’t,” came his reply, lined with static. “Besides, I’m taking the Hyperdrive engines. “ Tenn’Dia gave a reluctant sigh, resigning. “Sure Ka, I’ll be over there in a minute.” She pulled herself out of her bed, which was actually wooden crates pulled together, and walked over to a chair in the storage room and pulled on her Jedi robe over her inner tunic. She was a Twi’lek born on Nar Shadda, but was sent to the Jedi Academy when she was young. Chosen by Master Jaunka when she was about 10, so she had one-on-one training early on. Her pale blue skin shined as she opened the door, a smile formed her face as she entered the room. Not that she was exactly happy, but it was her natural way. Juanka had it far worse. She heard a faint clink fallowed by Jaunka yelling “shavit”, an old Corillian curse. He’d been on stim-pills since they left. He wouldn’t get sick or tired, but he was grumpy. All the technology in the galaxy can’t beat sleep. He’d been up four days straight so far. “ You know master, you’re pretty grouchy for a Jedi” she teased into the comlink. “And you have a pretty smart mouth” he commented back, only half joking “and one day it’ll get you in trouble”. With that Tenn’Dia laughed and began to work.
