Schph makes her way down to the security level of the Temple which is buried down in sub-level 2. Entering the room the heads of dozens of droids whirr and click in her direction. The room is stark white just like so many areas of the Jedi Temple. Banks of vid screens line two of the walls and to each screen a security droid is linked. Droids handle much of this work, just as in so many areas of the Temple. They attend to tasks that are important, but deemed too mundane for the Jedi to handle.
All the droids quickly spin back to their vid screens after acknowledging Schph's presence in the room. Since she never comes down to security much, Schph takes a little time to walk past each of the droids and takes a look at their vid screen. Each of the vid screens along one of the two walls is linked to vid cams along the perimeter of the Temple grounds. Vid screens on the second wall are linked to vid cams located in sensitive areas inside the Temple walls. Schph stops and looks intently at the screen that Droid #9 is monitoring.
"Quite impressive isn't it", a voice calls from behind Schph. Spinning around, she catches a glimpse of Manje Sceve.
"Manje, I didn't know you were still alive!"
Manje approaches Schph.
"Ha, Ha...very funny Schph". "You aught to do a bit down at the comedy cafes in the lower levels of Coruscant".
Manje Sceve is one of those rare Jedi that actually made it to "old age", a human approaching 90 years.
"Hmm....comedy cafe...maybe when I retire like you. But right now, I don't have much comedy in my mood. Can we go into your office, all this droid noise is starting to make my ears ring".
"Sure", Manje replies. " I have been hearing all this whirr and click for so many years that I hardly notice it anymore".
Entering Manje's office and shutting the door, quiet fills the room. Like everything at the temple, the room is utilitarian and few personal possessions can be seen, with one exception. Mounted to the wall next to Manje's oversized desk is a holo screen with ever changing images of padawans.
Schph stares at the screen. "Were these your padawans"?
Manje looks back over his shoulder at the holo screen. "Yes, they were mine...5 in all, and all gone now." With sadness in eyes, he looks back to Schph. "The life of a Jedi can be difficult indeed, two of the padawans never made it to Knighthood, they were killed in skirmishes we were sent to quell. The other three passed the trials, made it to Knighthood, but were lost in battles in other parts of the galaxy. I simply don't know how I made it to 90 years old...statistically, it is not done often."
"You are right, Manje. The galaxy is a violent place indeed, and I too fear for my padawan Ryss, and all the padawans. But they are true Jedi, know their job, and embrace the difficulty of their lives."
Manje shakes his head, straightens up and the two Jedi stare at each other for a brief moment.
"What can I help you with today, Schph?"

"Well, I am intrested in the holo-cam that your droid #9 is monitoring. I am a little surprised that he didn't find something to report last night".
Manje's eyes narrow..."the droids are working fine and I didn't get any reports of activity from #9".
"I didn't mean to imply that the droids are malfunctioning, but I do think that someone has figured out a way to "trick" them. Last night I believe that two swoops or speeder bikes set down on the grassy area along the fence that #9 is monitoring. They found their way into the gardens by way of drain systems that operate the fountains there. A grated entrance to that drain system can be found near that holocam along the gate. I know there were sentients in the drains...I saw their footprints. As a matter of fact, I think that one of the two has been hiding in the gardens for awhile and taking note of how this place operates."
"I had heard about what happened in the gardens last night Schph, and I looked over the recordings of the droids just to make sure that they didn't miss anything. Perhaps it is time to take another look".
Schph and Manje leave the office and make their way to a massive storage vault.
"This vault contains the data cards of all that the holocams record. Obviously, most of the time there is very little that happens on them, very dull and boring."
Selecting a data card, Manje and Schph head to a holoprojector.
"This is from last night." Manje pops the datacard in and puches in the codes to select #9's holocam station. The holo image of the grassy area comes to life and the two Jedi watch the image as it shifts back and forth over the area of scan.
"There!" Schph jams a finger at the hologram.
"There what?" Manje asks. "I don't see anything".
"Rewind a little and play it back as slow as the holoprojector will go."
Manje sends the holo-image back and the image picks up in a painfully slow manner. All of a sudden his eyes pick up what Schph caught. Played at regular speed, the image just looks like the holocorder had made a split second focus adjustment. But at the slower speed, a brief image of boy can be seen.
"Well, that's him," Schph remarks. Unfortunately, whatever trick they used on the system worked only too well. I don't think there is much else that I am going to be able to glean from your data cards. At least I know that I am not going crazy and that what I thought I had seen on the grass was indeed there."
"And it tells me that I need to make some fine tuning to these recorders and see if I can find if some energy field or magnetic field was used to interrupt the recording without setting off an alarm."
Schph turns to Manje. "And if all that fails, you may find it a little more difficult to pin down. It could be the workings of the "dark crafts".
Meanwhile, on Yavin 4, a figure slips through the darkness of the gas giant's #4 moon and makes its way into the communications shed.

Flipping the switches on the com unit, Ryss Fal-Orran sees the device come to life. Punching in the codes, she prepars to make contact with her Master. Just as Ryss begins her sequence, she gets the overwealming sense that someone or something is watching her. In an instant, her lightsaber is in her hand. Wheeling around, she igintes the saber and takes a defensive posture. The light from her blade illuminates a familiar set of eyes. Oh no....busted!
"Found you, I have" Yoda says.
Ryss shuts off her blade and illuminates a glow rod. "I am tyring to get through to Schph and find out what is happening with this whole business of her former Master."
Yoda is not pleased. "Off today, your concentration was. Suspected I did that thoughts of this matter were on your mind." "Told you, I did, that Schph must sort much of this herself."
Looking down at the floor, Ryss moves around some rubble with her foot. "I am sorry, Master Yoda, I know that a Jedi must always obey, but I also know that the connection between a Master and Padwan is one of the foundations of the Jedi. At this moment, I am torn between the two."
A glint appears in Yoda's eye. "True, it is. A delicate balance, it can sometimes be."
Yoda stabs his cane at the duracrete and makes his way to the comm unit.
"What your master is up to, let us find out." With a wink, Yoda punches in Schph's code.
As Manje and Schph prepare to part company, Schph hears her com unit go off.

Schph grabs her com unit and looks at the co-ordinates where the message is coming from. Yavin 4-it must be Ryss checking in.
"Yes Ryss, what's up? I see you have found your way into the communications shed. I hope master Yoda doesn't catch you!"
"Caught her, I have".
Stammering, Schph replies. "Sorry, Master Yoda, I didn't expect to hear your voice".
"Takes after you, your Padawan does. Used mechanical communication instead of her talent for mind to mind communication, she did."
"With all due respect, Master Yoda, we both know of Ryss' incredible talent in that area, but there is one weak link in the equation....me! My mind doesn't communicate as well as hers. We are also quite a distance apart, so Ryss knew best and figured out a way to get communication through anyway."
Yoda lets out an exasperated breath. "True it is. Wonder, I do, what has transpired."
"There isn't too much additional to tell. I have been on a merry chase around the Temple grounds for most of the day. I have found a problem with our sentry cams and have found traces of the substance that is manufactured on Sluis Van for use in the Holonet, so someone from that system has penetrated our perimeter. I found the traces when I chased after the young man who broke through our perimeter defenses and was spying on me. Sadly, he escaped the custody of the security droids and has disappeared. I think he made his way out of the gardens and is now back on his way to Sluis Van. He also had help, there was a second swoop parked on the grassy perimeter."
"The meaning of all this, have you figured out?"
"Well, no. Not yet anyway. I have prepped my ship and hope to leave the Temple soon. The answer is on Sluis Van, of that I am sure. The answer also involves my former Master, of that I am also sure. What he has planned there, now that I don't know. But he is summoning me there and if I am ever to have peace again, I must answer the summon."
Feeling a tug on his sleeve, Yoda turns to Ryss.
"Talk to her, you can Ryss", Yoda says as he moves over and allows Ryss control of the com unit.
"I know that you wish me to stay here on Yavin 4 with Master Yoda, but as soon as we return to Coruscant, I hope to convince the Council to send me to Sluis Van too."
Schph hesistates. "That is, of course, up to the Council to decide. At first I felt fear of this meeting, but the fear is now gone. There is no place for fear in a Jedi's life. Fasgar is my one piece of unfinished business and I must finish it. "

A familiar sound of beeps and whistles is audible behind Schph.
"Sorry, Ryss, it would seem that Blink feels that what he has to say is more important than our conversation. Hang on a moment while I see what he wants".
Turning her attention to her astromech. "Yes Blink, I am keenly aware that my com-link is otherwise occupied right now. I am trying to have a converstion with Ryss. We haven't had much of a chance to get caught up. What is so all fired important that you HAVE to "speak" to me now?"
Blink rapidly turns on his holo cam and there appears a figure before him.
"Jedi Gochi, this is Coruscant control. A ship was boarded by a man bearing the description of the young man that you gave us and is cleared for departure from Coruscant. The ship is headed to Sluis Van, well, at least that is the destination that was communicated to control. Do you wish us to hold the ship?"
"Tell them no, Blink. Let the ship leave. Have them make sure that the occupant or occupants get no feeling of unease in their departure". Several whirrs and clicks and Blink handles the commands to Coruscant control.
"We hope you have enjoyed your stay here on Coruscant and may your trip home be enjoyable."
"Thank you" the cheerful voice of a young woman replies to control as the luxury yacht "Revenge Seed" takes off from its berth. Climbing up to the space lanes of Coruscant, a young woman takes the ship out past the congestion of the lanes and punches in the calculations for light speed. With that completed the young woman at the controls of the yacht snaps off the communications link and reels around with nostrils flaring.
"You got caught! You idiot!" Her venom is being directed at the young man currently occupying the divan in the corner of the large c.ockpit of the starship.
Calmly, the young man replies, "Yes, Atril, I got caught, but I also got away."
"You got away! Listen Mr. Force Sensative, you would be rotting in a cell with your precious Jedi had I not been able to scramble the brains of those Security Droids from my location. Father is going to give the both of us hell just because you had to get a little closer look at life inside the Jedi Temple. Our instructions were pretty clear. You, Jahn, were to use your force sensitivity to put the image of our father into Schph's mind and that was it! But no, you had to sneak around and see if you could pick up on some of her meditation in the garden. We are both dead when we get back home."
Jahn turns to his sister. "I don't know what you are so upset about. It is pretty clear that we have accomplished our mission. I can say, almost without doubt that Schph Gochi will be heading to Sluis Van, and very soon. I do wish that I could have gotten another look at her ship. I am sure she will change the look of it again, now that she knows we have been spying."
"You're still an idiot, Jahn," Atril snaps back at her brother. "You may have the force sensitivity, but I have the technical expertise. I would know that bucket of bolts she calls a ship, no matter what color it is. As always, you are too busy with your head in Jedi lore and teachings to notice that the nose of that beast is 10% larger than most Headhunters...bigger for more toys, weapons and tricks. Most beings would not even see that modification, but I make things of that nature my business".
Jahn looks intently at his sister. "I know you get angry that I was born with more of the force sensitivity than you, but that is no reason to treat me like you do."
"Sorry" Atril says with little conviction. "I just hope that you know where your loyalties lie."
"I may be fascinated with the life and teachings of the Jedi, but I also know what is expected of me. Since mother died over a year ago, that is all that I have been taught, that is all that has been beaten into our heads...revenge. Father makes sure that we know that in the end, the name of Fasgar Boeve will be remembered as the greatest of the Dark Jedi when he brings the galaxy to it's knees. But, forgive me for having a mind of my own and pondering the other possiblilities in the galaxy other than the teachings of just one."
Looking back to her comlink. "Well, Ryss, looks like I will be getting ready to leave soon. My unidentified spy has left Coruscant."

Ryss fingered the button on the com console and replied, "I guess that means that for the time being, I will not be accompanying you to Sluis Van".
"No, it would not appear that you will, but I have other ideas on that. For now, mind Yoda well, I want you to learn as much as you can in the time remaining on Yavin 4. May the Force be with you Ryss". Schph hesitated a moment, "er, Ryss, put Master Yoda on again."
With a look of concern and dejection, Ryss moved away from the console and turned to Yoda.
"Master Yoda, Schph would like to speak to you again."
With his gimmer stick poking the duracrete floor, Master Yoda approached the com console again.
Looking at theh expression on Ryss' face, Yoda smiles. "Worry about this, do not, Ryss". Punching the button again, Yoda hailed Schph. "One last thing, do you request of me Jedi Gochi".
"Yes, Master, I ask that you release Ryss to follow me to Sluis Van upon the return to Coruscant of you and the rest of the Padawans". "I would like her to have the experience of this mission and I feel that if I leave Coruscant alone and arrive on Sluis Van alone that the person or persons who are so intent on me being there will not notice Ryss slip in a couple days later. Yoda pondered a moment but returned the answer that Schph was hoping for.
"Go, she will. Promise you that, I do."

As the luxury yacht "Revenge Seed" screams through hyperspace, Jahn has separated himself from his sister. Their endless battles on the subject of their father and the philosophy of Jedi vs Dark Jedi is growing increasingly tiresome. He loves his father and his sister, but now that he has reached his 20th birthday, he wants to make his own decisions on the truths in the galaxy. In the peace and quiet of his quarters, Jahn's mind drifts back.
Certainly, he has heard the story of his father and his father's padawan a million times. Fasgar was training in the Jedi arts, but found that his path was following more to the Dark side. The Dark side, Fasgar believed, was the more powerfull, and power was what Fasgar was all about. Wanting to take his padawan Schph with him was a natural course. One master, one apprentice, no more and no less. Jahn had listened as his father would tell him about the ungrateful whelp of a padawan that sent him slamming through transparisteel and leaving him for dead. But Fasgar did not die. As he plummeted to the depths of Coruscant, Fasgar cushioned his fall as best he could, but his body was broken and bleeding from the blast though the transparisteel. Summoning all of his powers of the dark side, he made his way to the home of a woman that he had been secretly involved with. Shutting down his force capabilities, he made himself "invisible" to the Jedi and they quickly gave up their search for him. Fasgar figured that the Jedi had assumed that his body was consumed by the dark side, and no trace was left. As soon as he was able to travel again, Fasgar and Listianne made their way to Sluis Van. Twelve years later, Atril was born, followed by Jahn three years after that.
Jahn pondered the story again. If Fasgar had stayed with the teachings of the true Jedi, Jahn himself would not be in existance to think about the whole mess. The Jedi of the Old Republic did not usually take wives and have children. The role of protectors of the Galaxy was too important for a Jedi to be sidetracked with affairs of the heart and home. Still, the role of the Jedi was much more important than existance of Jahn himself. Atril would give him a good smack for thinking along these lines. Atril......how different the two of them were. Atril was her father's daughter. And Jahn was his mother's son, that was certainly clear.
Since Listianne's death over a year ago, Fasgar's mind seemed to have snapped. Her love of Fasgar and her inherent kindness were no longer there to keep the Boeve's life in proper balance. It was now spinning out of control and revenge was the cornerstone of everything. Fasgar had been training his children in the dark side since the two of them were but infants and the training was all pointed toward the days ahead.
Fasgar was about to crush the galaxy's ability to communicate through the holonet...and his children and himself were about to crush that whelp of a padawan, Schph Gochi.

Ending the transmission and conversation with Ryss and Yoda, Schph feels empty. She knows that she must begin the journey alone; without her padawan at her side. Ryss brings balance to Schph, this she knows, but going alone to do a little ground work first is still the best option. She thinks sadly of Manje's padawans that were lost in conflict. The horror of losing a padawan to the conflicts in the galaxy...a constant threat, but not something even a Jedi finds easy to deal with.
Leaving the security area, Schph heads back to her quarters to pack a bag. Taking the turbolift down, she heads to the familiarity of her small room at the Temple. Stashed in the corner of her room is her trunk of goodies. Devices that she has hand built to insure success of past missions. Digging down to the bottom, she pulls up a lightsaber that she made a long time ago. The hilt is fashioned from a gutted hydrospanner....a good idea when one wants to hide the fact that you are Jedi. She tosses the lightsaber into the pack along with a blaster, and cloth and prosthetics for various disquises.
As she packs a few more items into the bag, that feeling of being watched returns. Reeling around, Schph sees Syn-Kai-Jinn standing in the open doorway.
Going somewhere Schph?" Syn-Kai asks.
"Hi, Syn-Kai, you saved me a trip. I was going to go and find you once I was done packing. I need to ask a favor of you."
"Sure, anything. What's up?"
"Well, I am sure you have heard the buzz at the assembly that my former master appears to still be among the living AND out to make sure I know that. I am not sure of the reasons, but I am on my way to find out."
"Yes, I heard about that one. Pretty bizarre, if you ask me. So, what can I do to help?"
Schph digs in her pile of data cards and hands one to Syn-Kai. "This data card holds all of the information that I have at this moment. It also holds the codes to the homing device I have placed in the hull on the Galactic GTO. I need you to keep this and go over it with Ryss when she returns from Yavin 4. Yoda has assured me that he will let Ryss follow me to Sluis Van to see what Fasgar is up to. Give Ryss the codes to find me, and Syn-Kai, make sure that Ryss gives you a means to track her too....just in case. Even if you are sent on a mission, please make sure that try to check on her."
"Done, Schph...no problem, I will make sure that I go over the entire data card. May the Force be with you."
"Thanks Syn-Kai, I knew that I could count on you. Well, it looks like I have eveything. Guess it is time to hit hyperspace."
Schph says her farewells to Syn-Kai-Jinn and makes her way to the docking bays.

Schph tosses her bag into the small storage compartment on her ship, there isn't much room in her starfighter for much of anything else. The Galactic GTO, even with it's modified hull for more room, is one tight little ship and it bursts with all of the technological goodies that she could squeeze in. Early Z95 Headhunters had no hyperdrive, but on later models the hyperdrive was added...Schph's was added and tweaked for most speed one could obtain.
Climbing into the c.ckpit, Schph goes through the start up sequence. Green lights begin to appear all over the board. Blink is already in his pod and making all of the last minute checks. Schph flips a data card into the navicomputer that contains the co-ordinates for the trip through hyperspace. She has planned a set down in a cave filled area to the north of the city where she feels that Fasgar is running the operations of the Vaandark Corporation. Bringing the repulsorlift engines on line, the Headhunter ascends from the floor of the docking bay. Easing the stick, she makes her way to the large door. While passing through the docking bay, she catches sight of Ryss' ship that is tucked away in the far corner, a ship that will soon be making the same journey. Guiding her ship out of the Jedi Temple complex, Schph heads for the space lanes and the open space beyond. The spacelanes are busy, as always, but that traffic is now something that she finds familiar instead of vexing. Heading out past the electronic security nets that envelope the always "prime target" for conquest planet known as Coruscant: Schph turns to Blink.
"Double check the flight plan Blink and engage the hyperdrive as soon as we reach the exit vector."
The hum of the hyperdrive engages and the pin points of stars turn into the familiar lines of hyperdrive space travel.
........................................................................................
On Yavin 4, a shuttle arrives and there is activity everywhere as Yoda, Ryss Fal-Orran and the other padawans do their final packing and begin to secure the base.
.........................................................................................
In the Revenge Seed, Jahn and Atril begin their descent into Sluis Van. The brother and sister are dreading the next encounter with their father and Jahn has a lot of explaining to do about getting captured at the Jedi Temple.

Atril lands the "Revenge Seed" in the docking bay situated on the family's large compound. Being one of the wealthiest family's on Sluis Van, they also have the largest homeplace of anyone. The massive black polished stone ediface of their home glimmers in the distance as Atril and Jahn exit the doors of the docking bay.
Atril bounces onto her swoop bike to cover the distance to the house from the docking bay and begins the start up sequence. Jahn, however, is lagging behind.
"Get a move on Jahn, father is going to be plenty upset, and there is no point in making him angrier by your procrastination".
Jahn stands his ground. "I have decided to walk to the house, I need some time to clear my head. Another heated discussion with father is something that I would like to put off as long as possible. Besides, it is a beautiful day and my legs could use a stretch."
Atril glances back. "Just don't take all day, I know how your infamous walks go....you are sometimes gone for hours." With that, the ever impatient Atril guns her swoop and heads up to the house and to some peace and quiet before heading to see her father.
Jahn looks up and lets the sun warm his face. Such a contrast to the deep cold of space. Instead of heading straight to the house, Jahn instead makes his way to the masoleum where his mother's body lays. The masoleum is tucked away in one of the far corners of the acreage that the Boeve's call home. The family does not, of course, let their real name known, so as Jahn approaches his mother's burial crypt, the name Miele is carved in the granite facade. Listianne Miele was his mother's name before marraige, and since Fasgar did not want his name known, he took her last name.
Jahn runs his hand over his mother's carved name, and deep sadness comes over him. If only his mother had lived a little longer until Jahn could make his way out from under his father's control. His world has been steadily spinning out of control since Listianne died. Not only his world, but the world of his sister and his father as well. Listianne kept the peace and tried to instill in Jahn some of the teachings of the Jedi. She knew all along that Jahn was extremely force sensitive and in order to give him a larger view of the galaxy, she tried to offset, even if in a small way, all the dark teachings of Jahn's father. Balance, she tried to give him balance.
Wiping the tears streaming from his eyes, Jahn speaks to his mother.
"I wish I had never gone to Coruscant, Mom. I have seen the inside of the Jedi Temple and know it is where I was meant to be. But how do I defy father? I wish no harm to come to him, but I am not sure I can follow his teachings anymore since I have seen the peace and serenity that the Jedi Knights have achieved. I want this peace, Mom. I NEED this peace....and I will never find it here with father. The big showdown is about to take place, and I don't like the role that I will be aked to play. At this time, I am not strong enough to asert my feelings and follow my own path. If only I had more time with you."
Slumping down to the ground, Jahn leans his head against the cold granite of Listianne's crypt.
"I have met Schph, mom. I don't find her to be the evil person that father has always portrayed. Of course, when she caught me in the garden, I was appropriatly enraged and hostile....father would be proud of that. But I would have loved to have spoken to her and the other Jedi and stayed on to apprentice or serve in some manner. Of course, Schph already has a padawan, Ryss Fal-Orran. I saw her too, for a short time before she left for Yavin 4 with Yoda.
A smile finally comes over Jahn when he thinks of Ryss. He watched Ryss and Schph in the training room just before she left with Yoda. The partnership was something he longed for. Not to just be ordered around but to have a true partnership with someone. It was evident that the Jedi Master and her Padawan had a deep respect for each other's talents. In the case of the Gochi & Fal-Orran pairing, Schph taught Ryss "space smarts" and lessons learned from a tough life, lessons on being tough, resourceful, and how to fight using the Jedi weapon....the lightsaber. Ryss taught Schph how to better use the living force, how to connect with only the mind, and how to let the force flow. Lessons were learned in a quiet way, without the storm and fire that Fasgar jammed a lesson of hate, revenge and destruction down Jahn's throat.
Snapping his head up, Jahn realizes that it is time to face his father and try to determine where his life is going to head.

Jahn takes the long walk to the house slowly and deliberately. Being in the house and in the presence of his father always throws Jahn into a tailspin. Out here, he has peace and feels more in tune with himself. Heading up the polished stone steps, Jahn grabs onto the handle of the front door, takes a deep breath and goes inside. The click-click of his heels echo on the stone of the floors as he makes his way to find Atril. When passing down the hall, he hears Atril's voice coming from the command center room. The command center is really just a large room filled with data-recorders, security holo-cams and other machines essential to running the home and empire of Fasgar Boeve.
"Listen, I hope those pilots you hired are worth what we are paying for them", Atril is once again drilling the head of security. "I want those stick jockeys up in the air NOW and looking for that Headhunter." Jaming a data card into one of the holoprojectors, Atril stabs at the transmission. "Here, see the subtle difference between Gochi's Headhunter and the standard offering? I don't care what color it could be painted, this data card will give you an accurate profile of her ship. I want that ship blown out of the sky!"
Jahn stands at the doorway. "That is not what Father wants, he wants her taken alive."
Atril swings around when she hears Jahn's voice. "Well, I know that is what he WANTS, but I am taking no chances. Turning to the head of security she casts him a suspicious glance, "I don't know how good these pilots are that were hired."
Jahn lets out an exasperated sigh. He can already feel the confusion and tension building inside. "I am not in the mood to argue with you Atril, I suggest we get in to see father and get this out of the way."
As Atril strides toward Jahn she wheels back around. "I want those pilots in the air NOW!" Atril stands firm until she hears the transmission being sent to the two pilots that will take care of Schph's incoming ship. She goes over to the window and looks down to the docking bay where they had just come in from. Two ships gently rise from the far side of the docking area and in a flash are headed for one of Sluis Van's moons. Once again she turns to the head of security. "Are you sure they understand their orders?"
"They understand them perfectly, Miss Atril."
Jahn now feels his blood turning to ice as it is time to go see his father.

The sun is now at its' height, trying to struggle some light into the dark corners of a very dark dwelling place. Atril and Jahn head down the familiar corridors to the room that Fasgar uses as his office. He seldom leaves this room anymore and spends his days plotting and planning from this singular space. Jahn starts to take note of the mental changes that are underway as they get nearer and nearer to Fasgar. The feelings of clarity are leaving his mind and being replaced by agitation and anger.
As they enter the office, Fasgar's back is to them as he looks out of the single window that occupies this room. Without turning around, he knows who is in the doorway.
"So, it is about time you got back here. Is everything going as planned?"
"Yes father", Atril responds.
Struggling with a last thread of clarity, Jahn catches Fasgar off guard.
"No hello children and welcome back? No glad to see that you are alive and unhurt?" As soon as the words have left his mouth, Jahn is sorry that he said anything.
Fasgar wheels around and faces his children. Even with looking at his father's features for his entire life, Jahn still gets surpirsed by the scars and disfigurations that a trip through the transparisteel can make to a human body. Fasgar's left eye is now artificial and the bones on that side of his face had been shattered. Even with reconstructive bacta treatments, that side of the face still sags. There is only so much bacta can do. His fathers right arm also takes a twist away from his body and every body part seems to be going in a different direction.
"I don't have time for the obvious, Jahn", Fasgar booms. "I can see that you are alive, and I already know how things have gone. I know that you got captured in the garden's by my former Padawan."
Fasgar's real eye narrows as he stares at his son. "I also know that you were feeling peace at the Jedi Temple. I trust that now that you have returned to your real place in this life, those feelings are gone and your mind is back on the here and now and what needs to be done next".
Not wishing to see another mental battle between her father and her brother, Atril breaks into the conversation.
"Father, I can tell you beyond a reasonable doubt that Schph will be on her way here. Jahn and I left enough of a trail to get her here. Your day of revenge is at hand. I have hired a couple of mercenary fighter pilots to make sure that she doesn't slip into our airspace un-escorted. Now all that is left to do is sit and wait."
"Very good, Atril", Fasgar says to his daughter. "Jahn, you could learn to be a little more like your sister. I have been waiting over 30 years, a few days more or less won't make a lot of difference. I have also managed to hit the last of our competition in the flordian market....as of today, no one gets this essential compound for the Holonet unless they come to me. Suffice it to say that the entire holonet is at my command and that parts of that system will be failing soon. Fasgar once again wheels around to stare out the window, "you two are dismissed, I suggest you get busy for the days to come".
Jahn's head is now spinning with confusion and anger. Dismissed, not a good-bye, but a dismissed. How typical. Atril and Jahn leave Fasgar's presence and head to their respective rooms.

Syn-Kai Jinn paces in the docking bay as he awaits the return of Yoda's shuttle. Schph's data card is clutched in his hand as he sees the shuttle making its' way into the building and watches it gently settle on the pad.

Shortly after touching down, the door on the shuttle swings open and the padawan's and a few younglings begin to emerge in a barrage of chatter and laughter. Syn-Kai watches until the last of them have disembarked. Bringing up the rear is Yoda and Ryss. Syn-Kai notes the difference in Ryss's demeanor vs. the rest of the padawans who are making their way to the turbo lift.
Many of the padawan's that were on this journey to Yavin 4 with Yoda are just newly pledged, and some are not yet paired with a master. Ryss, on the other hand, has already been paired with Schph for nearly two years and has seen her fair share of missions in that short time. Hers is the walk of someone who has seen more than the others and knows that the lessons that she has just received from Yoda are important to her survival and to the success of missions to come. At just 15, she has already seen some of the horrors that the galaxy has to offer a Jedi.
Yoda and Ryss look up from their conversation as Syn-Kai approaches and bows.
"Master Yoda and Ryss, greetings and welcome back to the Temple. I trust all went well on your training outing?"
"Very well, it went, Jedi Jinn, but glad to be back we are".
Syn-Kai then brought forward the data card. "I have information for Ryss regarding the mission that Jedi Gochi has gone on. She informs me that you have promised that Ryss can follow Schph to the Sluis Van system."
"Join her master, I have indeed promised Ryss." Yoda then looks toward Ryss. "With Syn-Kai you must go and view the hologram that Schph has left for you. Follow her instructions to the letter, you must."
Yoda bids farewell to Ryss and Syn-Kai and makes his way to the turbolift.
Syn Kai and Ryss head for the library at the Temple to take a look at the information contained in the data card. The Jedi and Padawan bow a greeting to Jocasta as they enter the library and make their way to one of the data-corders. Syn Kai flips the switch and an image of Schph comes to light.

"Greetings Ryss and Syn-Kai" the hologram begins. "As you already know, I have headed for the planet of Sluis Van to search for my old master, Fasgar Boeve. I have been summoned there through the force for reasons that I do not yet know. I suspect that revenge is part of it. I also suspect that a corporation called Vandaark is being run by Boeve under an assumed name, that assumed name is Miele. This corporation has all but put a stranglehold on the susbstance flordian, which is the essential mineral that makes our galactic holonet work. At first, I did not want to involve you in this Ryss, but upon thinking about it further, it is our job as Master and Padawan to form a team that works together and experiences each mission as that team."
"Master Syn-Kai" a voice interrupts. Syn-Kai turns to find his padawan, Lyt-Jio Dodowi, standing in the doorway to the room that he and Ryss are in. He pauses the hologram that they have been watching.
"Yes padawan. You have news for me?"
"I have the news that you have instructed me to be on the lookout for", Lyt-Jio begins. "The holonet in the Kathol Sector has gone down. This section of the holonet has been unable to negotiate the purchase of flordian and has begun to fail."
With a grim look on his face, Syn-Kai turns to Ryss. "Well, it looks like it has begun"! "Thank you Lyt-Jio. Please go back to the communications center and monitor the status of the other systems on the holonet".
Lyt-Jio bows and heads back to the communications center and Ryss and Syn-Kai return to watching Schph's hologram message.
"I have given to Syn-Kai a communicator and a receiver tuned into the homing beacon on my ship. I want you to wait for two standard days before heading out, Ryss. I want to make sure that whoever is summoning me to Sluis Van believes that I have come alone. The homing beacon will lead you to where my ship will be docked. I hope to hide the Galactic GTO in one of the many cave areas. I will head into the city upon my arrival to do some looking around and see what information I can pick up on the Vandaark Corp and its' owner. Wait with the GTO until I get back to my ship. If I don't show up, then you know the mission and myself could be in trouble. Leave the system immediatly, Ryss! There are charts and co-ordinates on this hologram as well. I will see you in a few days Ryss. May the Force Be With You."
The hologram then goes dark. Syn-Kai and Ryss then begin to go over the star charts and topo maps of the planet Sluis Van.

Syn-Kai hands Ryss yet another data card.
"Ryss, this card contains the information and codes you need to keep in touch with me. I promised Schph that I would keep watch whether here at the temple or if I am sent out on a mission of my own. Please check in with me on a daily basis. I am not sure now that communication will be possible with the advent of the failure of portions of the holonet, so I have also placed a box of remotes by your ship. These remotes are programmed to find the nearest point of operational holonet to transmit from. Hopefully, it won't come to that, but it is the only back up that I could think of."
Ryss tucks the data card into the pouch on her belt and bows to Syn-Kai. "I will do my best to keep you updated Master Syn-Kai, I have no fear that I can communicate with my master once I am "in-system". Master Schph and I have the ability to communicate in thought". A smile crosses Ryss face, "well, sometimes Schph hears me, there always seems to be some confusion on her end of the mind transmissions, but I can usually pierce the mind clutter."
Syn-Kai and Ryss bow to each other and he heads for the door. Stopping short, he turns around to see Ryss already deep in concentration. "Good luck Ryss, and may the force be with you".
"Thank you, Master Jinn, I think the hardest part is going to be the two days that I have to wait before leaving for Sluis Van". I will try to occupy my time with working on my ship, gathering information, and working on my "cutting through the mind clutter" skills."
........................................................................................
Watching the chrono on the c.ockpit display, Schph sees that she will soon be entering back into realspace. Blink tootles a warning to Schph that he will be disengaging the hyperdrive. The lines of light once again turn to pinpoints as the Galactic GTO returns from hyperdrive to sublight power. As per her calculations, the ship drops from hyperspace well out of the Sluis Van system. Looking out of the viewport, the planet is just a slightly larger dot among the tiny dots of stars.
"Blink, load our false recognition codes. I am quite sure that someone will be watching for us. Hopefully those codes will buy us some time as we get nearer to the city of Van-Naar. Jam all attempts at communication from the planet, make them think that we are having trouble with the on-board communcations system on the ship. I will head immediatly for the caves to the north of the city."
Schph once again glances out of the viewport. The planet has begun to grow larger as they continue to approach. The Jedi begins to quiet her mind when a wail from Blink breaks her concentration. Warning lamps begin to flash on the c.ckpit display.
"I have a bad feeling about this!" Schph momentarily stares at the display while Blink screams warnings at her. "Yes Blink, I can see that someone has a target lock on us"!
