I was just thinking that the Force would be like toothpaste in a tube. Squeeze all the Sith out of the Galaxy and it just pops up again as Palpatine. Squeeze all the Jedi from the Empire and Qui-Gon pops out.
Would Qui-Gon have resurfaced without the impetus of all those Jedi getting killed and the whole order being devastated? I know Qui-Gon is a wonderfully powerful and wise Jedi, but I don't think he would have returned without those events happening first.
In the end, Sith and Jedi seemed to have annihilated each other between Sidius and Vader. But I suppose the toothpaste tube of the Force will be squeezed in different ways by whatever light and dark factions emerge in the New Republic.

LOL! ;D The Force is like a tube of toothpaste... you never know what might pop out if you squeeze it too hard... I'm cracking up!!Seriously though, I never thought of that... maybe the order 66 event gave him the final nudge he needed to break through.

Yeah, I guess that is a strange metaphor......squeeze the Force and Qui-Gon pops out. But, hey, I'm the Jedi with my lightsaber blade sticking out of my ear. ;D
But when I thought of the timing, it just seemed to be too much of a coincidence for Qui-Gon to become really active just after everyone else got killed. It's implied that he's lingering in ATOC, but not so anyone would notice directly. I know he's a terrific Jedi, but he can't be the only one kept some awareness in the Force. But given Qui-Gon's connection to Anakin, Obi-Wan and Yoda, when all the other Jedi got killed, how's the light side supposed to express itself?
One might expect that meditating on dead Jedi could become a hot topic in the New Republic order.
