In ROTS, I noticed, as Mace Windu and Palpatine duel with sabers in Palpy's chambers, Mace kicks his lightsaber out of his hands and out the window...............so how is it that Palpy got his saber back in time to fight Yoda.......I mean he couldn't have just gone out on the streets n be like "Has anyone seen my missing Sith saber??? no??? Anyone???" Any thoughts?

Well, he didn't fight Yoda until the next day at least, so there was plenty of time for him to send out the minions to go get it. Being an emperor is all about having minions.

Yep, and the saber wouldnt have fallen far from the building... which is the Galactic Senate... a heavily guarded Galactic Senate. A clone most likely would have been standing around to pick it up.
Unlikely sure, but not as unlikely as how timely Obi Wan got his saber back from the clones.

With the way the Senate building is constructed, it probably only fell a few floors to the roof of a lower level.

Im guessing that he has 1 or 2 extra sabers hidden in various spots around Courscant and he just went and got another one.

It wouldn't be too unusual for someone to have multiples. Palpatine surely had time though to have his retrieved.

I read that when he fought Master Yoda, he used an identical backup saber, I forget where I read it though...

Yeah I read that somewhere as well, but it was more like a foot note than an explanation, I wouldn't read into it too much. I doubt that he had more sabers around, especially considering all the trouble he went to to get that one saber onto coruscant without anyone knowing.

I haven't actually read the entire novelization yet, but what trouble did he have with the saber? I don't understand why he would have to smuggle it onto Coruscant as Sith make their own crystals, not collect them from Illum, and the basic parts of the saber would probably be fairly availble.

... Unlikely sure, but not as unlikely as how timely Obi Wan got his saber back from the clones. One of my favorite lines in the book not in the movie is, when Cody gets the message to execute Order 66. His side comment was, "I wish you would have told me that before I gave him back his lightsabre."
It was one of the better understatements in the book.

Yep Mon-Jas, I agree. It was a pretty funny line, but also it showed how uncaring and unopinionated the clones were when it came to following orders. They should have had that one in the movie.

Yeah I love that line too! There was some dialogue in the novel that would have been quite funny to use in the movie.
Another good one takes place just prior to that when Cody gives the saber back to Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan says, "No, uh, need to mention this to, erm, Anakin, is there, Cody?"

yes he did have a duplicate stored in his office it is in the visual dictionary(so not all the words in the visual dictionary are pointless). Palpatin is the Supreme Chacellor, and he would definitely have had diplomatic immunity, just like all Heads of State on Earth have diplomatic immunity when travelling anywhere around the world. So its quite easy for Palpy to bring in a case full of sabers, or at least all the parts needded to make several sabers in his 'diplomatic package'...
Even Superman has a closet full of pin-striped suits... One of my favorite lines in the book not in the movie is, when Cody gets the message to execute Order 66. His side comment was, "I wish you would have told me that before I gave him back his lightsabre."
It was one of the better understatements in the book.
Yeah that'd have been funny in the movie but then it wouldn't have been very convincing because a clone DO NOT talk back to the Supreme Chancellor when he's issuing a durect order. You just say "SIR YES SIR" and execute it... ;D
