For a while when I was in the Army, the Army Command was thinking of introducing a new dress uniform. They presented us with a few options and had us vote on which ones we liked. One of the options looked almost exactly like the uniforms from Star Trek II (the best ST movie) complete with fold-downable flap on the chest. We thought those were pretty cool.  In typical fashion, nothing ever came of it. |

I was a ST fan before SW came to be, so I respect the past while following the future. One of my first costumes was an original series engineering shirt. Somehow after the summer of '77, my focus shifted a bit.
I still like Troi's dress from TNG-the aqua green one. Never got a chance to make that one, though.

I dunno, You never know what will make a comeback and when, They say every dog has it's day.
So i'm not ready to count out the Star Trek Franchise just yet.

Actually, I'd totally forgotten that they're making a new "old" ST movie with the classic characters and new actors. I'm very interested to see how well they'll pull it off.

In my opinion... ST ushered in the mindset for SW. The two are not the same, and cannot be compared.
I have fond memories of watching ST with my dad when Iwas little.
And my dad was equally impressed with my snow vader... he had to show the pic (in SW Insider) to all his buddies at the shooting range!!!!

after reading all this again I have to say the Movie better be good or else that might be it for ST sad but true I do love it even the inconsistancaces (sorry cant spell bigger words than beer ) (joking dont even like beer) |
