[glow=blue,3,0000]Someone forwarded this to me in my email. Enjoy![/glow] 9) Now that the wait for "Lord of the Rings" is over, fantasy geeks can taunt and pelt the SF geeks in line for the next "Star Wars" tickets without losing their own places.
8) Fake lightsabers are no match for metal swords.
7) SF geeks tend to have plastic pocket protectors. Fantasy geeks never care nor know what's in their nasty little pocketses.
6) SF geeks wear pointed ears and act like aloof Vulcans, while fantasy geeks wear pointed ears and act like aloof Elves.
5) SF geeks are so derivative! I mean, Vulcans and Klingons are just rip-offs of Elves and Orcs!
4) SF fans live in their parents' basements, whereas fantasy fans live in the... never mind.
3) Most fantasy geeks are aware that their stories are imaginary; SF geeks seem convinced their stories "could totally happen!"
2) "Qa'BoH na'HoQ yo!" That's Klingon for "Why would anyone waste time learning a made-up language like Elvish?"
and the Number 1 Difference Between SF Geeks and Fantasy Geeks...
1) Fantasy geeks are 40% more likely to have read the book, while SF geeks are 60% more likely to own the lunchbox.

Mmmmm. . . since I'm both, plus a horror fan (notice i did not say geek) I've read in all three genres, and honestly only lived with parents couple times before moved out quickly. But I admit my son is still living with us. My goal is to be out by next year? LOL But LOL anyway. JMD 'who's trying to dry out from this stupid heavy rain we're having'

9) I've lined up for both, and dressed up for both. 8)How about a lightsaber pen vs. a Sting letter opener? 7)What's the purpose of a pocket protector? Isn't the pocket supposed to protect whatever you put in it? 6)Go not to the Elves for counsel for they will tell you both no and yes, however, Elves don't need to tell each other to live long and prosper. 5)If orcs are elves that were twisted by Morgoth, who pinched vulcans' foreheads to get that klingon ridge? 4)My parents just pay for my dorm at university. 3)Just because someone made it up doesn't mean it couldn't happen. 2)Vaderion nacalarie. The son of Vader is in the Light. I don't know why I just wrote that. 1)I've read all the books, but I eat too fast to need a lunchbox. It's called the Jedi speed-eating ability. You didn't know Jek Porkins was force sensitive did you?

.....and here is one that most people won't believe...
I really didn't care for the Lord of the Rings Triliogy...
sorry....
most of it was pretty good...but .....for me it was just too long.....a lot of the scenes just dragged on....and on.....and on......and on.....and on.....and on.....and on.....and on.....and on.....
well...you get the idea....
SW is about action, action, action, action...keep it moving....yet we still care deeply about the characters....well....most of them anyway...

;D ;D This is sooooo funny! And very accurate, mind you! But trekkies are the true sci-fi geeks, and LotR lovers are the fantasy geeks. We Star wars folk fall right about in the middle I think. We know SW is fake, but the Force... well, it could happen! And stormtroopers are real too... right?

Wait... top nine? You mean thy couldn't think up at least one more to make it even? ...or does the number 9 have some sort of fantastical sigificance? That's it... I bet it does!

Well as for #3, Well, I think I know when it's fantasy, but yeah man, it totally could happen well I was around when people said "Man will never walk on the MOON!" and well like that totally did happen, and now they're planning for MARS! As a reader of Heinlien novels as a kid like all the ones before "Stanger in a Stange Land" that were about the Moon, Mars & Venus etc. well.......!And now Virgin Airways is planning for tourist trips to outer space in the forseeable future at $200,000 a seat for the trip I expect that a lot more of the "it'll NEVER happen" stuff will fall the way of the Moon walk. OH Yeah! ;D
