Aaaaaaah, I read my copy. I was very sad about some things, but overall, I was quite happy with how it ended. Aaaaaah, but no more in the series.

Hmmmmm, has enough time come out since the book was released so that the story can be discussed without spoiler warnings?

Finally got it last evening and have already read the whole thing! Yes, I was pretty pleased with most things, even the sad stuff, considering the time period and all... I thought the "showdown" was pretty well done. And yes, I'd be interested in discussing as soon as well get the "go ahead". May need a 30 day waiting period or something... is there an "official" policy?

Done...I loved the Vader fight scene. The ending was...sad. I wished Trever and Ferus has stayed together!! I was shocked that so many died

I suppose enough time has passed since the book came out that we can discuss details.....
Yes, the end was very sad, but I was not surprised that so many people died. I was really concerned for Ferus, but I'm glad he made it.
And I loved that he ended up on Alderaan watching over Leia. It was perfect. It is strongly implied that he was on Alderaan when it was blown up. I suppose he might have been. But since Vader sent a message that everyone on the Tantaive IV was killed. Bail might have called Ferus, who would have known that Leia wasn't dead. And he might have left the planet before it happened..... But you can't really tell.

Yeah it was a nice ending I would have liked reading about Ferus discovering who Anakin was, not simply starting out the book talking to Obi-Wan about it. I really was hoping to read that, to see if he felt arrogant about knowing something in Ani was a miss but she wrote it in a way which makes Ferus more real and adaptable.

And the part about getting rid of the Sith Holocron reminded me a lot of Lord of the Rings....
Edit 6/13: The new SW Insider (Yoda on cover) has an article about this, and all of the Jude Watson series, on pages 61-62.

Thanks for the note about the article. And I hadn't thought about the Sith holocron being like the one ring. They are devices of evil though the Sith holocron had more of a personality and the one ring was a somewhat silent and unique artifact.
It would be nice if JA did another Watson series; I like the way she writes Jedi.

how come Jude Watson didn't write #10 and Judy Blundell wrote part of #9?

I just finished it and was kinda surprised many died. Kinda surprised Ferus survived but I liked how he ended up on Alderaan watching Leia. Seemed to make sense since Obi-Wan was watching Luke.

Well, it was the Purge...
And I assumed Ferus blew up with Alderaan, but no, apparently not....
