I felt bad when Snoil the snail (as I call him) died...he just wanted to go home to mate...that was kinds a theme in this book, huh?

But the whole idea of the story just goes to show how deeply influenced by the war the Jedi have become... and by the dark side. The whole deception... but what else would they have done? How else would they have solved the problem without massive loss of life?

The fight in the water was good.

I love the idea of the guides... the way they reproduce... Good point! I never realized how much love/family were in this book until now...I just thought more of the action parts. And of Jangotat's kid.

One of the things that struck me was that in the beginning of the book the mention that the cave spiders are non-sentient. They thought the same of the Dashta eels.
But in the end they find that both have intelligence.

I like they way they recruited them... and how in the beginning there were prejudices that had to be eliminated before any training could begin.

Did it bother you that Anakin wasn't much in this book? I thought it refreshing...and to see Kit in a larger role.
