Not limited to hardcover.

My thought was that is can be any book...a new one, an old one, a tales book, a kids book...anything Star Wars! Each month a different member of bookclub will pick the book for us to read. You won't have to pick the book you want us to read until the month before (example: if September is the month you get to pick the book, then please post which book you choose in early August so people can get it. Then we will read it in september and discuss it on the first tueday of October meeting) DXL called 'Outbound Flight' for the book to read for July....so we can discuss it in August at the 'meeting'...so we are cool with a monthly meeting on the first tuesday of each month? Would 8pm CST work for everyone? That way for people on the west coast it's 6pm and they are home from work. Here is the list of who's interested so far and the month they get to choose the book for. (I already put up the date for the first two meetings and DXL's book choice) DXL July Outbound Flight 8/1 @ 8pm CST Himiko August 9/5 @ 8pm CST Jaryk September Jedimom October Leda November Jan-Qui December Jedi Fay January 2007 Me (I Five) February 2007 Aston March 2007 We'll just keep adding to the list as more people join us ;D. Again...Please remember to announce your choice early the month before so people can get it! So Himiko, if you can please tell us what book you'd like by early next month that would be great ;D!! Is there a chance somebody can make this thread a 'sticky' thread so it stays on the top of the Star Wars Novels discussion area? Thanks!!! Jenny PS...Jedimom...I'd love to mod for this , but I'd need help...I've never done it before!!! It would be a great opportunity for me to learn...... if some of you would be willing to help me...I know I'll have questions ! Also, anybody looking to save some money....the library is a great place to get book

Sounds good to me. I am a fast reader, but I don't have much time to read anymore. And I fall asleep at night while reading. I have Outbound Flight, so I'm good with that.

Perfect timing...I forgot to post where to find reasonable used books...and I see Jaryk is looking for one! These places will be helpful if we read some older books that are out of print or that the library no longer has. www.half.com www.amazon.com Here is a link to amazon's Outbound Flight page, incase more people can't find one. I see there are several copies of ithere...pretty cheap too! Shipping is a flat rate...$3.49 for each book on Amazon. So you can get a good used copy of Outbound for like $8.50 including shipping, a new one for under $10 including shipping! www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0345456831/sr=8-1/qid=1150754818/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-2691867-7640020?%5Fencoding=UTF8 I've bought from both places before and had good luck. If you ever need any kind of book check them out...just type in the name of the book and hit search Jenny

Try your library Jaryk. Most libraries are now networked so they can order from other libraries also.
IFive, I'd be happy to help any way possible

This is great, because I make so little time to read anymore, I have stacks of books piling up, waiting. This will force me to get to them!
... and I know all to well about falling asleep at night reading!

lol we haven't even started yet - but that is something we need to talk about - can anyone join at any time or must they wait till the next book to join in the discussions?
also - I'd hate to make you guys have to create another user acount on another site but do you want me to make a message board for it on runboard? I have an account there as does himiko and they're global accounts so you can go to any other runboard site with the same account. we could use a seperate forum for each month's book and that way we could have multiple threads/discusions for each one. it's up to I five though - her idea...

Yeah. I would rather have fewer sites to have to keep up with.
And I'll have to get on the Outbound Flight as soon as I finish Betrayal. Its good!

Glad to have you onboard Aston! I added you to the list. Yup... Outbound Flight is the first book we're going to read. Zahn rocks! Anybody can join at anytime...we'll just keep adding people to the list so they get a month to choose a book Then they can just jump in and read the book we're currently reading! I agree...let's keep the monthly meeting discussions here so there is no confusion. I appreciate the help offer DXL, cause I'll probably need it! I'm going to start a new thread called TJA Bookclub: dates & books . We'll keep posting here, all the new thread will be is the list of members, the book they chose & the meeting date & time. That way we don't have to keep scrolling thru this thread to keep track of everything Jenny
