So far its pretty good. It brings back Omega Squad and Etain and throws in Delta Squad (from the RC video game) to give first-time readers (those who didn't read Hard Contact) some familiar ... uh, faces (I guess all clones are familiar faces since they're all the same).

I wondered where D squad came from, so far am really enjoying it, lots going on, and I'm glad that they returned Etain & Omega squad, I quite liked them. I think a couple of other characters are from the short story that was in Insider a couple of issues back, their names are very familiar.
Well, I've finished this one, I really liked it, so, I will now read the story in Insider that is a follow up, or at least takes place after this. The names are familiar from the previous short in Insider and it is reprinted in the back as a bonus. I really like the clones, and again her style of writing is pretty tight, even though her "love story" style isn't great it gets the idea across.

I have just finished reading Triple Zero and had quite a good time at it. The in-depth look at the life of the clones and how they handle being near a "normal" society is intriguing. I have to say that the story behind the relationship between Darman and Jedi Etain Tur-Murkan is very different than what is usually published regarding Star Wars inter-personal relationships. Does anyone else feel that Ms. Traviss did a good job of reflecting the disintegration of the Jedi order during the clone wars period by the inner turmoil of Etain? For those of you interested in a hardbound edition of these books the Military History Book Club has an edition with both novels combined into one volume. You have to be a member to get it but needless to say it was not a question for me. See it here: www.militarybookclub.com and look for item number 58-1091 in the search box. And finally as an interesting treat on this novel. The Dha Werda Verda, the mandalorian dance performed by the clones was conceptualized by Ms. Traviss from the New Zealand "Haka" which is a native "war dance". It is performed by the Rugby team and a video of the performance (short) can be seen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8DX_8-uXUkI would love to see 501st troopers doing this at C4!!

I really liked TZ also.
I do agree it really did a good job showing how the Jedi order was disintrigating...the Jedi just didn't seem to have any pride left...they were just warriors in a bloody war.
I like how the commandos were actually having a personality...and also interacting with the civilians..yet kept their same percision tactics.
I loved Skitara...he's a great character! He really cares for his 'boys'. Vu is a creep...yet I loved how he executed the assaination mission at the end of the book...and how we found out what the strill actually was good for!
I was shocked when the Etain/Darman relationship went to 'the next level'! Then the other troopers had girlfrieds too (Ordo & Atin). But it really showed that the clones are people too!
The baby...I immeadiatly thought it would be Mara Jade...until Etain said it was a boy! But it would have made sense to be Mara...she'd be force sensitive from Etain & her kick-butt ability would come from Darman. The baby would be about the correct age too..........

I Five, I didn't think of that possible Mara Jade link. That would have been cool though! Now you have me wondering if there will be a future story with that baby as an adult.

I'm just hoping for a third RC book. I want to know if Etain and the baby make it thru order 66...to learn more about the Nulls'....and to see how Darman deals with the baby. So many unanswered questions...so many possible story lines!!! I hope Karen Traviss gets to write another book.

I am pretty certain she will. It would just be a surprise if LFL didn't keep it going given the series popularity so far. She apparently has been dubbed the "clone writer". I believe she is in on the Legacy of the Force series which is nine books and three authors. She will probably have three books in that series and the first one features, what else?, a clone. Bobe Fett.

I really like her writing style. I very much liked the clones as people, as the isea in the Med Star books was introduced, well it only makes sense, clones are affected by what 5thay experience in life, which is different for each, even when it is the same, they're organics, so they have thought processes, which are varied in each one.

I agree...I really liked the clones as individuals. The RC books made me see them as individuals...and not just 'meat buckets'.
