Goes a lot deeper into the psyche of the Jedi and Anakin. If you've read "Shatterpoint" its similar in style to that. Excellent book and shows some of the things that have been deleted from the final film print

I agree - what makes the book cool is it could focus a little more tightly on Anakin whereas the film was a little broader to make more sense in the saga...

FYI: Del Rey will be publishing an omnibus edition of ROTS WITH Labyrinth of Evil! So you'll be able to read the complete Palpy story there!

I just finished re-reading the ROTS novel. Once again, it was an excellent read. It truly makes me wish that this had actually been the shooting script.
In my opinion, as far as the film goes, the strongest point is from the opening crawl to the rescue of Palpatine. After that, the film sort of goes in and out of believeable dialogue, acting and plot.
The novelization did so much better a job in making me believe Anakin's transition to the dark side, his frustration with the council and their decision regarding his Master-ship.
So many other areas of the film were better portrayed in the novel as well: the Dooku/Anakin/Obi-Wan duel, the attempted arrest of Palpatine and the council meetings come to mind.
And I also believe that the Labryinth of Evil and Dark Lord novels are also great "bookends" to Revenge of the Sith.

Agreed, once again. I have LoE and RotS, and Dark Lord I have on check out from the library. VERY good reads, all of them. I really do wish that the entire "Anakin falls to the Dark Side" had been done in the movie like Stover did it in the book. So much good material, and the entire "Anakin's viewpoint" during the Dooku Duel actually was an insperation during the final chapter of some of my own work.
