I am about halfway through and I have to say it isn't on my top 10 list.
I do like the different viewpoints in the Clone Wars. Mace's homeworld is very interesting... a tough place to live. Great storyline, character, creatures... I didn't care for the writing style. Jumping between 1st and 3rd persons didn't work too well here. I've seen it done well. I think a big downer was that I never expected Mace to be so helpless and doubtful of himself. Of course, I am only halfway through.
Can't complain too much... I bought it at a bargain book store for $11.00.

Finished it. Still not impressed overall... better than I expected it to be.
It really makes Mace out to look weak. Well, he's a great warrior and strategist and all, but he appears so disurbed by his actions in the Clone Wars and the results thereafter.
The action is good. It is nice to get someone's thoughts on what is going on, but it seemed to dark for Mace.
And poor Depa...

One of our local Star Wars Book Discussion group is also an english teacher...
according to him....Shatterpoint is the best "literay" book of all the Star Wars books he has read....
...strictly from the standpoint of literature....

I'm only halfway through it myself, but am enjoying it so far, graphic violence and clouding darkness notwithstanding. It's a great look into Mace's character, whom I loved to begin with, but to see how deeply the suffering and despair disturbs him, to see the passion ignited in him when innocent life is threatened and he responds in kind . . . wow. Yes, it's a graphic book, and yes, it's hard to read knowing the fall of the Old Jedi Order is so close, but at the same time, looking into Mace Windu's heart, soul, and origin make it worthwhile. Plus the parts when he straight up lays down some old body-dropping are awesome!

Finally finished it. Whew. What a roller coaster ride. This definitely isn't a Star Wars book (or otherwise) for the faint of heart, or the small of mind; for the former, because of the violence. For the latter, the Mace's take on Jedi Philosophy. I loved it!

I loved it the fighting make my heart skip a beat. I love Nick and Mace the most. Of course my favorite Star Wars book moment is the all powerful Jacen in "Tratior"
