I'll probably pick this up next week, has anybody started it yet? Like? Dislike? No details, just opinions please. Thanks. Gotta go bowling now.

In one word 'dissapointed' would be it. Sorry, just didnt come across as Starwars. It has some good ideas and characters but there were parts that were, well discordant is the best way I can decribe it. They spoiled an otherwise good starwars book. Of course thats just personal opinion and you may love it Phil

I did not finish it. I had to get it back to the library. I am usually a very fast reader but I couldn't get thorugh Shatterpoint. Lots of war and disillusionment.
I think the idea of Clone Wars is to spoil Star Wars. It is not the same as what we are used to in the SW Universe.

One thing I do know since going to the Shatterpoint booksigning by Stover is that his other books he has written besides "Traitor" are supposed to be extremely and graphically violent...I guess that is his writing style...

Actually, I rather liked it. It was Star Wars, but from a different perspective. It conveys the darkness of the Clone Wars quite well, although I do agree that it drags on a bit...I stopped about halfway through then picked it up again a week later. I also jumped ahead and read the ending! (not an uncommon thing for me to do). The author's writing style is... *searches for word* ...descriptively uninhibited. I found myself getting grossed out, but I still wanted to keep reading. I also like the way it jumps from Mace's journal entries to regular 3rd person storytelling. A good character study of the baddest Jedi in the galaxy! All in all, I think Shatterpoint exemplifies how the Jedi are beginning to lose their foothold. Like Mace said, "We can't fight a war for you". Not a light read, but it's not meant to be.

I did finally finish...and I gotta say...it shows how absolutely devastating the Clone Wars were....very depressing...and slow....but I guess worth finishing...
so if showing how massive and destructive the Clone Wars were was the point...he made the point!

Really dragged, didn't it...but definitely worth finishing. It's interesting how when you first are confronted with the gruesome scenes you're shocked, but by the time you finish the book, you're sort of numb to it...kinda like the effect real war must have on soldiers.

I liked it. There were parts where it was rather slow. But the fighting and descritions, the detail in them were great. Very graphic when it came to the fighting. But I liked it. It had the SW characters, the element, but it took them all to a new level. A good one I think.

I just got it from a library book sale for $0.50. I didn't think it took that long to read, only about 4-5 hr. The graphics were a bit to gruesome:P. I don't like how Depa turns out, I think she should have healed, at least they could have had her concius for the end of the book. I also think Mace got a few to many wholes in him, if you know what I mean. But Nick just cracks me up . I think it was worth reading, if only for a few good laughs.

I read this book and felt shock, and awe. I patterned my daughters and my costumes off Depa Billaba's. I felt so sorry for Depa's fall. Was it a fall to the Darkside or insanity? I feel it was 50/50. I also think that the Shaman had a big role in her fall. I feel he pulled her down and she tore in two over her live's work and where she ended up.

I haven't read it yet, but have heard good things. What a shame for a good Jedi to fall so soon. I've seen a "fad' of Jedi going to the darkside or people wanting to play darkside people.

yep....I saw that too.....
I am kinda amazed....I have heard that a couple of the Clone Wars novels had been scrapped because "Shatterpoint" was not doing as well in sales as expected.
