Has anyone read this one? I think I have a pretty strong vocabulary, yet I filled up a whole notebook page with both new words and words that I'd never heard in that particular context! Did anyone else notice this or am I really a dumb blonde? I found the book to be quite boring...so much that I never finished it. Politics isn't my thing. I'm interested in hearing a different perspective on this.

I just remember having to stop and look up words so much that I decided to write 'em down and look 'em up later....which of course, I didn't!

[glow=purple,2,300]You dumb blonde! Ha! I had the same problem... It was too boring... I never got through it. And I got it when it first came out.... I was really tired and couldn't find anything else to read one night (one of those sleepless nights) and read a bit more on it... But I haven't even gotten half way through it..... Just dull... It needed spicing up... EXPLOSIONS! DEATH! GORE! SE- well not that! LOL! SJ.[/glow]

Sorry to condradict you guys, I enjoyed it very much. I thought that the link between the book and TPM was good. It shows us a bit more the political corruption in the Republic and I understand that some of you didn't quite understand words or meanings. I had to strruggle myself on a few one, but I finished reading it and think that it is good too have some variety in SW. Plot twists are sometimes better than some fights...

I remember that I enjoyed it, but then I'm not a huge fan of some of the other series. matter of taste.

I tried dying my hair dark... but it really didn't resolve the issue.

I guess I just CAN'T STAND POLITICS!!!!!! Gee, when I'm sewing, I turn on C-Span for amusement. It doesn't have any commercials in it. I just finished reading Cloak of Deception. I enjoyed it, though I did heavily skim past the politics. I got the gist of it. What I really wanted to read were the Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon bits and I was satisfied with the portrayals in this book. I liked Lucerno's writing style and his other characters as well.

I read it when it first came out in hard back. I did the same as Ani. Don't remember any vocabulary issues, though.

guess I'm not as well read as you guys as far as vocab is concerned... But I am adapting to his writing style. I didn't like it at first... found it distracting. Now I've noticed that he uses backward sentence structure... like he introduces the subordinate clause before the subject/verb or main clause. At times i would find myself saying "get to the point!" of the sentence. But it's ok... can somebody please knock me in the head now and just say... "enjoy the book!"

Enjoy the book, Leda, just enjoy the book! I think I like his style. I do want to reread that tho' I'd like to re read a bunch of the books just now. The references to Quinlan Vos in Labyrinth of Evil are starting to make me curious, where is he? Comics? or Books? If books, which books?

You can find Quilan Vos in the clone wars comics, The Last stand on Jabiim and Light and Dark I think, there's five out so far with two or three stories in each. I don't recall having him in any clone book I've read so far.

He's mentioned in LoE... and he's in the SW "Republic" comic series.
Very cool character!
