I'm going to attempt to replicate the uniform from the cover of Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith #2: Now I know nothing of the Expanded Universe. Is this a Jedi from approximately 4000 BBY? If so, would the costume be accepted by the council? If not no problem. I'm still going to try my hand at it- I've always loved that cover, and it is a cool costume none the less. Might have it ready in time for D-Con. Kevin

that looks pretty cool, i wish the best of luck to you, i havent red that comic, so it just comes down to whether that particular charachter is a jedi or a sith, and you can site sources and stuff

I havent read the comic either, but something about that character seems to scream out "bad guy" to me. I doubt he is a Jedi , he has a blaster pistol in one hand... if they had the technology for that blaster, they would surely have been able to construct light sabers? Also Jedi generally don't wear armour; they are not soldiers. Of course the title is "Tales of the Jedi", and it would make sense for a Jedi to be the main character and thus on the front page, but something is just telling me he isnt, looks more like a soldier or bounty hunter, or even Sith (although i doubt it) That doesnt mean it wont make a fantastic costume, and if you altered it for a Jedi, i.e. added a robe and got rid of the blaster (and evil snarl) then it would be hard to refuse!

The costume looks a little Sith to me, so I doubt that it's a TJA costume, but I'm sure everyone would love to see you in it anyway. What's the backstory for it in the comic?
Looks like some major hardware, too. It would be very cool for DragonCon.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Unfortunately I don't own the comic itself. As far as I know, the story takes place 4000 years before the events of A New Hope. Which is why I might believe it is an ancient Jedi Knight. Until I get my hands on a copy (I've been checking Ebay off and on) I won't know for sure (I could be way off). Like I said- this is an ambitious project for me. I've been trying to work out the armour- whether I want to buy something off the shelf that looks close (like motocross chest protection), or scratch build the whole thing myself (with something like plasticboard). The motocross way would be much quicker, but could prove expensive; whereas doing it from scratch might take longer and might not work out as I hope. If I do get it done in time for D-Con, it would be a great conversation starter!
