I know KaiRhann did this for his costume a couple years back, but I just wanted to show off the bracers I made for myself last weekend.
I sort of echoed my latest Jedi belt with them. Using a similar color of dye, and all gold-colored hardware. I made 2 straps for each of them, instead of snaps, like I believe KaiRhann used, because I wanted them to be adjustable. (If you noticed the extra holes in the top of the straps, I didn't like the original placement of them, as far as where the buckles were, and had to punch new holes to move them. )
Sorry the pics are a bit grainy, I took them with my webcam, as I don't have a digital camera.
Hope you like them! Let me know what you all think.

I have vambraces as well, but I can't use them with my Jedi costume since they're Boromir's. Great Job on yours though.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
I made the pattern for these last year, but never used it till now. I started thinking about lightsaber practice in warm weather and wanted to protect my bare forearms. I'm still breaking in the top edges, they are very stiff and need to be softened up a bit more. I wore them at my Fan Force meeting last weekend and my wrists were a bit sore after that.
The hardest part I found about doing the pattern for this was to get the right curves for the top and bottom edges, so that they would look good when they are closed around my arms.
It took a bit of trial and error while I was making the initial paper pattern. Then I always transfer that to a piece of poster board to make a template to transfer the pattern onto the leather.
I always enjoy creating things with my hands, using various methods and materials. My mom has no creative talent and is aways amazed at what I come up with next! And the fact that I can take an idea that's in my brain and actually make it in real life.
