With CIII being 4 days I'm pretty much maxing out all my Jedi wear. 4 Jedi costumes, 4 days. And then there's that pesky Wednesday evening. Yeah, might as well start early with a costume, right? But I don't have a 5th outfit and I didn't want to wear the same one 2 days in a row without washing, so I just an got extra undertunic and pants. I can change the under costume and use the same tunic, tabbard, obi and robe, the 'outer' costume.
This probably isn't anything new, but I was wondering if other people have tried this to 'extend' their costumes for a multi-day convention?
This also helps solve my hall costume problem for this year's Worldcon where my luggage will be extremely limited. I just bring one basic outer Jedi outfit and change the undertunic and pants for different days. And the pants can be worn as regular clothes for the rest of the trip as well.

As a reenactor I have found that with a good shower, and smell good stuff that you can always get two days out of a garment, however I too have enhanced the volume of Jedi clothing. With an undertunic change I would say you should be fine. Same pair of pants for two days is ok but undertunic change almost a necessity. We do a collectors mart here in Va about once every month and a half and wear our Star Wars clothing for three days straight from early am to 9:30pm. I wash pants and undertunic between each wear but not Tabard, Obi and tunic. Can stretch those........ It sounds like you are very prepared for the upcoming function. One more thing I try and do is put myself in the mindset that if these characters were real then this would be their clothing everyday all day and if the clothes get a bit uncomfortable I try and remind myself of that.

I worked at a dinner theater ... we would spray the costumes with Ever Clear, pure grain Alcohol .... This would take the order out .... in later years we used Fabreeze, cheeper in the long run ... These tips along with a shower ever day will go a long way for keeping your cloths fresh

Aaaah, I've heard the praises of Fa-Breeze sung around here before. Thanks for the reminder; I was planning on looking it up. I have some things that cannot be washed that I wanted to try it out on. I've never been very comfortable with wearing pants 2 days in a row. I can always tell if pants have been worn for a day and I just want to wash them then. At CIII, I'm expecting large crowds and a certain amount of sweatiness and some necessary costume changes.
Plus, this is the first time I've ever had to take and wear nearly every bit of Star Wars stuff I have. I'm pretty sure it will all come in under my weight limit *crossing fingers*.
I generally wash all my costumes after each wearing when I get home from whatever convention/event I wear them at. Then I store them. I don't wear them very often at all, so there's little chance that even my washing machine will wear them out.

I do that too, I have several pairs of pants and under tunics as well to change to if I need to wear the tunic etc more than once between washings. febreeze is pretty good, there are commercial types available that work better but cost way much more. There is even 1 made just for ciggie smoke. If you really can't clean or wash a garment ask me what & where to get it, it does work better than the febreeze.

I've got an extra undertunic that I've used in this way.
Hopefully, the convention hall will not be has HOT as San Diego's. It was hot outside in July and the AC just couldn't keep up.

What about wearing peices from each costume?

When I went to C3 I had a can of cvs disinfectant spray for my clothes, because I don't like to wear things repeatedly. But cool weather helped & the spraying of the pants & tops helped.

I take about 4 or 5 pairs of pants and a few under tunics and a few over tunics to wear at a con. Febreeze does wonders.:-D COurse I always shower each day anyway.:-D
A very dressy over tunic/tabbbord set for dinners, costume contests etc. Raw silk over tunics for 'daily' wear. Not only does my wardrobe expand but it gives me more variety.
