With CIII coming up and then EPIII my mom and I have been working on 5 new Jedi Costumes. So far all that is left to do is add some snaps to keep evrything in place and my set of brown leather tabbards. We also have to re-dye one of the tunic sets. It doesn't look like I will be updating my Robe for a while. After buying so much material already I think I will wait. My mom made all five of these in less than a month. Yesterday I picked up my altered boots and my custom belt from the shoe repair guy. $80 to have the calf of the boot narrowed, two straps added to replace the tiny ones that were on them, and then the belt put together. Not bad. Ofcourse the minute I got home I had to throw on a few of the costumes. Here are two of them. First my new EP I Obi-Wan styled: and my custom green Jedi costume with a velvet upolstery for the tabbards. And before anyone yells "There are no green Jedi" This is one of those costumes you made bacause you like it. It is green silk I found at Hanc*cks on sale for 1.88 a yard. The tabbards have a scaley look to them and I found exactly the amount i needed on a remnant table the same day I found the green silk. It all just fell together and feels great to wear. As an added bonus the material is the same color as my eyes. I added them to the costume page of my website. You can see them and a few other pics from yesterday here.

Costumes look great. The Obi-Wan is very crisp!
and the movie Jedi, Bultar Swan, has an over tunic that appears to be green, more like an olive drap.

My compliments to your Mom. Nice costumes, and you have excellent posture in them. Very nice work, and very crisp. Do you iron them?
I think about ironing mine. Sometimes.

Thanks for the Compliments I wil pass them on to my mom. She is currently sewing closures into all of my Obis. She sewed all of the snaps on earlier. We have one on each shoulder and Tabbards. Then one on the undertunic to keep it closed at the right angle. She sewed buttons onto the Tunics. These wil be hidden by the obi later. All that is left is the button holes. They haven't seen much action so they aren't very wrinkled yet. Besides the silk, my mom has ironed and pressed them as she went long. The tabbards have fusible interfasing to add to there stiffnes. I never liked how my first set seemed to just hang on me. I wanted these to look crisp. I forced myself to keep a good posture in those pics, so I see I did a good job of it. That is something I have been working on a lot lately. I am so used to slouching, but I knew that if I did in the pics it would look 'frumpy' and the tabbards would fall off my shoulder (not secured with snaps yet). Perhaps sometime on Sunday I will be able to put the others on, get a good feel for the movement in them, and of course pose for more pics.

I was able to try on two more of my costumes yesterday. All my mom has left is my set of dark brown leather tabbards. I will have to pick which costume should have them. Here is one of my new costumes, sort of Ep III Obi-Wan. We are wanting to dye the tunic and tabbards a little bit darker. The tunic is crinkle cotton and the undertunic is chocolate brown linen. This is just a custom combination of colors. The tunic is chocolate brown linen and the tabbards and under tunic are osnaburg (sp?). I thought this tunic might look good with the leather tabbards and obi. I also have matching pants out of the same linen. You can see all of my new costumes I have photographed so far here I plan to add them to my website soon, but until then they will be at that photo album.

These costumes are also nice. The second one stands out a bit much for a Jedi, though. There usually isn't very much difference between the colors of the tunic the obi and the tabbards, so I think the darker tabbards would look better with the darker tunic.

I think all the costmes look good. They all look very jedi. The ebst pic I liek is the smiling jedi. Tere's just far to many frowning Jedi out there.:-) Very cool loking cat too. I need to get some shots of me holding a neighbor's cat. Unfortunatly the cat likes to stand on my shoulders and slid down the back of the over robe.:-D

Hi Jen-Ru, tell your Mom she does fabulous work! They all look great. While it might not be entirely canon, the green looks wonderful on you. Corellian? I think the leather set of obi/tabbards will most likely look best on the dark brown tunic in the last shot. I have 3 to finish, then I start my own stuff for CIII, I'm up to my eyeballs in sewing till CIII. But I got a really different little commishon today, I have to remake a Dr. Evil to fit a little person who is a stripper, so I have to make it a breakaway. Vive la difference, at least it won't be boring. Last week I had to re-do a ballgown for a girl who was in The King & I in school, she was a size 2 and the gown was about a 16 and needed a bit added in decorations as well, but was quick & fun. At least it doesn't get boring.

The next two are also excellent. I, too, agree that the dark brown tunic would look best with the leather tabbards.
