Ok, here goes.........for a new thread............
I would like to hear from others as to sources or opinions on the best of everything Jedi Costume related.
Rules: No heated discussions about it......... If you consider something the best and post it here and someone else thinks a similiar item from elsewhere to be the best then they can both be.
Purpose: To help those who don't have, are still working on or already have but aspire to better their costumes.
Subjects: Tunic/Tabard/Obi/Pants/Robes - these are lumped together since main differences are fabric (color and texture) and who might have made them (since most are custom lets not put anyones down) This is mainly to discuss commercially made items.
Belts Lightsabers Pouches Boots Capsules Buckles Belt studs or posts
Focus: On commercially made items someone can purchase.
Suggestions: in some cases like boots you may need to differentiate between womens and mens.........(Women have many more choices for boots since there are so many tall ones made for fashion.)
Please offer your choices for best but try not to degrade anyones product.

The only thing I have purchased commercially is a lightsaber from Lightech Industries. I can vouch for the fact that they are easy to fight with, sleek looking and durable (as I have dropped mine many times!)

That is funny, I have dropped my Parks so many times and of course was mortified the first time which was just on the pavement. The second, I tossed it onto the seat of my truck going to pump gass and the thing bounced of the seat onto the asphault. It is very resilient and still works with only a few minor scratches. I kind of like the minor damage since it looks used and well worn. I don't own a lightech but have had many talks with Mike and played with a few that belong to others.

I received a new pair of boots today from Museum Replicas. I got them in my size 11 and they would not fit the calf. They are well made but check your calf sizes. They are not the color of Qui Gons but more of a medium Brown.......Qui Gons were more of a dark chocolate brown. Price is reasonable, they seem a bit stretchy and after wearing them for about a half hour I was slowly inching up the zipper, with a bit more time I might have made them fit but since I have another pair already custom made I will make these available for purchase and will post them on the Buyer Seller thread.
It seems the best is still MotorCowboy for mens boots but these are very good too for those they will fit. One more thing about these they are tall. The shaft was hitting the back of my knee when bent. Those of us under 6'1" are probably going to have difficulty with these.

I've heard several people say that the Museum Rep. boots were thin in the calf and tall in the leg. I talked with them at DCon and suggested that they make them in x-wide calf as well. As I said to them at the time, con-geeks aren't just in standard size.

I like homade sabers. Gives them character! And they are lighter to wear on your belt all day. ;D

I will pass along your comments Nova again when I talk to my dealer rep. He seems very interested in feedback. Hopefully they will make some revisions and I told him almost the exact same thing when they first came out, I got the measurements and knew they would be too tall on most and too tight in the calf on all but the thin folks. I am one of those Jedi who spend a lot of time in the Jedi Temple cafeteria. I have always had calf probs so had to custom order a pair from MotorCowboy. Their boots were revised on authenticity by Wizards of the Coast so now are pretty darn accurate.

Actually, I am rather fond of the heavies on sabers. I received one of my stock sabers from Parks and it was made tremendously light, I will bet you would have loved it. I sold it the next day and the guy was crazy about it but I still prefered heavy. I am currently building my own custom version and trying to figure out how to add weight. It is funny though, I wonder if the female Jedi were busy designing lighter, quicker and more agile sabers while the male Jedi were designing tougher and heavier sabers. That would make a very interesting thread of the hypothetical.

I got a Classic T-900 from Lightech Industries with power grip. I removed the O-Rings reaaranged the round rings and painted the crown emitter in an electrum gold finish. Lightech makes an amazing product and they are so easy to speak with on the phone. Mike was very very patient and helpful. Their blades rock as well.

Now that Matt at Mp is no longer making the pouches or at least suspended them for now is there anyone else making really good ones?
I am not talking about those who buy surplus ones, those are out there and varied........but anyone actually making some good ones that others can buy.......some in my local group need some and I am looking for the best........
