SO pleased, finished my first Jedi outfit and wore it for halloween YAY!
Anway, i'll pop some pics up as soon as my friend emails me them, also got some mods i need to make to it
Firstly I want to Dye the pants and make a new inner tunic as my current one is made of the same material as the outer and is Heav and hot and as such is more a sleeveless vest style.
The Robe is only made of a Cotton/Linen mix as opposed to wool Which i've had trouble finding in the UK
And the Boots are just a pair of Suede Half Chaps and my British ArI disagreeault Boots.
I did have a thought of Using a pair of Tabi boots as foot wear what do you think?

Ah, the costuming begins... once you have one, you just gotta have more... need this, change that, sew tabbards to tunic....
... and it will never stop!

And when you're happy with that one, you'll want another one ;D, strage with all those sheep about, you'd think wool would be easy to find, especially as Britain is famous for wool, but they most likely export it all, like finding oranges in Florida. I've seen gorgeous wool in Wales & Scotland (but Welsh Tweed & Scots Tartans would make strange Jedi robes) Maybe your local fabric place can order it for you, it's more than just a yard or two, generally I use about 7-10 yards depending on height. I know that here if you want about 10 yds of anything, most store will order it, as that's about 1/2 a bolt, it's not a strage fabric or colour that they can't sell either, wool in a netral brown should sell. But, I still wear the heavy cotton one that I made, I get so warm in that that I haven't made my wool up yet. But I'm looking for a heavier wool for mine, as I've got a really beautiful lt. wt. wool in a nice chocolate brown.

Looks pretty good. So what was the fabric that you used for the tunic & under tunics?

I'm not sure exactly what the Material is, best to descibe it has quite a heavy weave stiff cotton.
All i know is that it's all natural Materials.
I think that for m MKII Under Tunic i'll make it out of a light linen/cotten mix and probly need to add ties to it to keep it closed when i'm out.
BTW does anyone find that when they sit down there Obi and belt tends to Ride up?

Costumes look good, thought I'm not so sure about that sith-like saber in the first 2 photos! I don't have the problem with belt and obi riding up when I sit, but my anatomy is different than yours.

I think there's a thread around here somewhere about belts & obis that shift, but we sort of reached the conclusion that those of us of the curvy persuasion have less of a problem with it, but, as your belt wears in, it will do it a bit less.

It all looks good to me Stinger.
Good job on the gear Stinger. :-) Now how does all that feel on ya'? Don't worry about the toy sabers dude. The metel saber'll come later. in the mean time the toys are fun for sparring with kids.
Kai, maybe Stinger beat Maul in a fight and got the sith saber. Better opponent would easily tick off the Sith. It also explains why Ole' Mauly guy was so cranky in Episdoe 1.

Good luck with the Darth Maul combat suit. I made mine from the 12 inch figure and some pics off the net and I think it came out good. I still need to add some details but only the true DM fan can spot that. If you need any pics let me know and I'll send you some, I would post pics of my costume... but I would hate to strike fear in all you Jedi! LOL Here are my pics anyway. Here's a link to some pics, but I can't make out the details of the costume. I'm working on getting the funds to get my contacts and after that it will be time to upgrade my belt, I picked some some new tools and I have some experience working with leather now. Forgive the robe I'm upgrading that as I type. community.webshots.com/photo/207222750/207234431SkMHAKcommunity.webshots.com/photo/206513191/206514590qfOunj My wife's first time doing my full make-up. community.webshots.com/photo/206513191/206515286VXHhkm I thought you guys might like the Qui-Gon vs Maul pic. community.webshots.com/photo/206513191/206514383ckUqQUThat last pic was for anyone who says we Sith are all bad! Just remember there's always room for improvement and be patient, it takes time to get the DM look down. Rudy G. (Maul in SA)
