Hey guys!
Sorry for my absence, I was on vacation. Well, the robe has been finished!!! My friend made the modifications in a matter of minutes. I think it looks great. I'll try to post pics tomorrow!

Your costume looks great so far. I can't wait to see what the robe looks like. I have material sitting out waiting for a moment when I can sweet talk/bribe my mom into making it into a sleveless robe. I have tried sewing ans the machine ATE my material. My mom said she had never seen that happen. She has made wedding dresses and costumes for a local dinner theater in the past, so she is the best person to do it. I just have to find her on a good day....that material has been there for 10 months. Any way back to the topic of you costume. I love all the different colors you have with it. As for how short the gi is, it is good enough. However if you could find a little bit of material that matches it (perhaps dye it to match as well) then have and extension sewed on under where your belt and obi go. That way it looks like it is that length since the seem would be under the obi. Keep up the great work and I would love to see a close up of you lightsaber.

That's great about the robe, Bethany. You've pretty much gotten it all together now. I agree with Jen-Ru, if you don't do anything more to your tunic I think it looks fine, but what she suggested about the extension would work too, if you can find fabric that matches.

img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/partyatheckhouse/IMG_0154.jpgWell, there's the pic! I love the robe, it's very comfortable, and it has a very nice texture, I wish you could see it in the picture. And I mean, it only cost 20 bucks! I'm not completely happy with the whole thing, my tabbards are too wide, and that makes the robe look kinda funny. But it's a great "starter" costume, and I think it looks excellent for the price, and I'm very proud of it. Thank you all for your advice and encouragement! Your costumes are all so great, I hope I can make one to match yours someday! I'm off to finish my saber

To be honest I think they aren't too big at all. Your costume looks great. You should be proud. You and the people who help did a fantastic job.

Toss is right, Bethany, I don't think they're too wide either. You're well on your way. That's a great costume!

They are 6.5 in. I'm glad you all don't think the tabbards are too wide, I guess I'm just being paranoid I almost like the costume better without the robe, but the robe is nice because I don't have to keep straightening my back tabbards. And my obi is always about to slip out from under the belt in the back. But all the trouble is well worth it, it feels so cool to walk around as a jedi! My poor mother isn't very happy about the costume being finished, she won't let me wear it around the house

What? She won't let you wear it around the house? Oh that hurts. How about school? ;D
