[glow=red,2,300]All hail...[/glow] Seeing as how I was HORRIBLY wrong about the color of Barriss Offee's outfit, (It's BLUE not BLACK) I was wondering if anyone out there has a link to some decent pictures of her and her Master, Luminara. The question is this: If I was to make a Jedi Healer outfit, would it have to look EXACTLY like Barriss and Luminara for it to be recognized for memebrship, OR could I use a similar, yet modified, design with the same colors? I am really interested in the colors morso than the design itself. I think the designs for their costumes seem pretty simple, compared to the regular jedi garb. So that's it.. I'll let you guys have at it. Thanks again! Geo

The action figures of both are pretty good references, and by the way, they look deceptivly simple, but done properly, I'll brt there's a lot of fabric going on there. I'll check on the rules about the acceptability of other designs. If you plan to volunteer at any official functions LFM require CANNON ONLY costumes, so keep that in mind.

[glow=red,2,300]Still looking...[/glow]I am familliar with the Padawan's guide, I spent alot of time there last night, and theyr'e the reason I brought up this issue. I do know that Cannon only costumes are allowed to voulnteer, but I'm not interested in voulnteering, (not right now anyway. When I want to do that, I will make a traditional jedi outfit,) What I am interested in is costumes for jedi healers... Most of what I've seen on the web states that the healers, Barriss and Luminara, have robes and outfits the color of eggplant or indigo. So if I wanted to do an outfit in those colors, but do not necessarily like the style, could I replicate the style of Obi-wan's and Qui-gon's outfits with the healer colors? Or do I have to replicate the outfit EXACTLY to join the jedi assembly. I have read the rules, and it wasn't exactly clear... not to me anyway... Thank you to those who have helped so far! Geo

We do have members with other colors in their costumes, particularly like the tabbards being a different color than the rest of their outfit. Destiney Froste is a name that comes to mind.

Destiny Froste has a great costume, with lavander and plum accents. It's beautiful! There's an example of someone having non Jedi colors in their costume, but still having a traditional Jedi costume and being recognized as such. There's no question that she looks like a Jedi. It's an individual idea, and the Council looked at it and loved it!
So........... if you were to make a costume in egplant or blue, just do it for yourself and then let us have a look. It's hard to say if we'd approve it or not, without seeing it. A former member made a light blue Jedi costume for her step daughter and it was very well done and looked Jedi.
And Ris'sa has a blue tabard and sash b/c she's a Jedi healer also. So does Sash, I think. But the rest of their costumes are traditional Jedi.
Did that help?

Hello!
As I made a costume of Luminara Unduli, I know it is dang near IMPOSSIBLE to find a good clear picture of her costume. To make maters worse, each picture is slightly off on the color, depending on what type of lighting is used.
The best I can offer, is to do a google search, under her name, and then look at the image links. Also, her action figure doll has quite a bit of detail that is true to most pictures. The best picture is in the illustrated encylopedia.
There are a few websites for Bariss Offee's costume. Also, TheForce.net website, under costuming, has a good tutorial on the costume as well.
Hope that helps out some.
As far as Jedi healers go, I have read from several sources that Jedi healers tend to use blue in some part of their uniforms. I might depend on where they work mainly. In some stories, Jedi who stay at the temple, have blue tunics and pants, and darker blue taberds and obi. Those who leave the temple, want to be more recognized..so just the Obi and tabards are blue..the rest, is more of the traditional colors most are aware of.
AS Mirilian, Luminara and Bariss wear skirts..so they incorporate the blue in their clothing as well.
As per standards in the Assemly, the reading of the rules state:
Any brown/tan Jedi costume or variation from the movies is acceptable.
“Dark” Jedi costumes: Only Luke’s from ROTJ, Barriss Offee’s, and Luminara Unduli’s are being accepted at this time.
No Sith costumes or black versions of Jedi costumes are being accepted.
New Republic/ New Jedi Order/ Expanded Universe: Any Jedi costume/ color from the Expanded Universe is acceptable. However, members must cite their sources, ex., book and page number, as to what Jedi wore that particular costume/ color, and submit it the Jedi Council.
If someone has an original idea they are encouraged to submit a well-lit picture and write-up to the Jedi Council for review.
Soo...as long as your not trying for day glow colors...I dont see a problem. But it is up to the council in the end.
Hope I didnt confuse you too much.
