In Return of the Jedi when the Emperor arrives at the Death star and is walking down the ramp there are a group of other people behind him. You also see him talk to them when vader leaves his chamber. Who are they?

His entourage? Like many medieval kings or queens would have around them. I looked up at StarWars.com, but no mention of them under cast or with descritption of Palpatine. Being extras obviously, there's no actors's names so can't trace character names and get definite truth. JMD

What's wierd is their faces appear to be misconfigured like Palpatines as well. The main one i saw him talk to had a pale green face with a hat similer to the one Naga Sadow weared.

Palpatine was an emperor, not just a Sith Lord. I'm sure they are just the people who relay his messages, do his errands, whatever. He had people with him at the opera in ROTS who likely do similar things.

Speaking of that, what happened to them after E3?

Found info...oddly on Wikipedia.
Organization of Power
Emperor Palpatine ruled the Empire with absolute power, with third-in-command Sate Pestage as Grand Vizier (the Head of Government, who was running the Empire day to day by the Battle of Endor). Darth Vader, a Dark Lord of the Sith, was the Emperor's second-in-command, being the Military Executor and Supreme Commander of the Imperial Navy. Two of Palpatine's top advisors were Janus Greejatus and Sim Aloo, who accompanied Palpatine on the second Death Star. The leadership of the Empire is the Imperial Inner Circle, led by Palpatine.

What is strange, as their costumes looked not unlike the Trade Federation costumes worn by the heads of the Trade Federation. Really. Look at those costumes and then the ones in Ep. I-III. Maybe back in ROTJ, before changes years later, he had meant T.F. to be human. Just like original Jabba the Hutt was human. Pam
