Jauhzmynn I hope this message finds you well and at peace! As a kid I remember my grandmother leading the devotional service and would sing this song
"God is on the request line tell him what you want" God is on the request line tell him what you want"
Ask the lord to remove things in your life that trouble you and hurt you and watch the stumbling blocks be removed from your path but you have to believe that God is a miricle worker and already on the job. there verse in the bible that says. "He will not give you more than you can bare" sometimes it seems like all odds are against us that's when we have to have faith that the Lord Jesus will see us thru the storm! Call on the lord ask that his will be done in your life and see what happens! When I was homeless and getting myself together I read the Psalms 91:1-11 and wonderfull things began to happen in my life! not overnite but in time I was strengthen and encouraged to go on! Take care and may the lord come to you in your time of need!

Everyone here has the Force flowing so strongly through their words...where shall I begin? My father's family was Catholic, my mom's wasn't. Because of their difference in beliefs they decided to get married in an agnostic church so they could celebrate exactly as they wanted. This caused unrest among both sets of my grandparents because each child was marrying someone of the "wrong" religion. The union of my parents helped them to understand that there is no "wrong" belief and that everyone should be able to express their own thoughts about God. Thus, I grew up without a religious bias. My parents showed me religion from the point of view of an observer, rather than a participant. I was shown not only the beliefs of my family, but of other cultures as well. My parents had friends who were Jewish, Buddhist, Islamic, etc, and I was given a broad range of culture to influence me. However one thing that I will be eternally grateful to my parents for is that they chose not to baptise me. They did not predispose me to believe in any one religion and let me choose for myself. When I was around 6 I discovered Star Wars. I still had Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers so it didn't make that much of an impact at first, but over time I began to develop interest in it. I remember the first Star Wars movie I ever saw in theatres was ROTJ:SE when I was 10. I had seen the videos, but that was amazing. My favourite moment in the entirety of Star Wars is the climax of the Luke/Vader fight; the 10 or 15 seconds after Vader realizes he has a daughter, and what Luke would do to protect his sister. Everytime I watch this sequence I can feel the Force flowing through me. Everytime I tell people that I believe in the Force they look at me like I'm uber-obsessed. I've even been told this by other SW geeks. But there's something about the Force that just clicks with me. It just feels right for me. It doesn't explain the creation of the universe, or how life came to be, but I don't need that from my belief system. Thats why science is there. Jedi is a way of life, of honour, much like the samurai. It is the way I choose to live. In May 2003 I met my girlfriend Eryn. I fell in love with her in a month. Her family is Anglican. For the longest time I avoided talking about religion with her because I didn't want conflict. I had previously lost friends because of religious debates. I didn't want to lose Eryn. One evening our families were having a bbq and our parents started discussing religion. Later on Eryn brought it up with me and asked why I had never inquired into her beliefs before. I told her that I didn't want it to come between us. But in that conversation with her I realized what my parents had discovered a generation before: Religion should not divide people, it should unite them. Why argue over who is right when you it is a much kinder thing to live your life as you choose to live it and discover later if there is Heaven, or Hell, or Valhalla, or if you just become one with the Force. Eryn and I have been together almost 17 months and with the way things are going, we will still be together when she ascends to heaven and I join the Jedi as a Spectre of the Force. Although I do not turn to Jesus for my spiritual wellbeing, I stand beside those who do, as a friend bridging the gap between the Faith and the Force.

Thanks gang for the prayers. :-) it has helped. Please keep it up.
The house mate's attiude had changed in an about face manner towards me. He's no longer causic. We'd talked and got to the bottom of the problem. Since then his opinion of me has risen considerably, and is amazed at what God has brought me through in my short lifetime. He had said that no matter what, he'd always be my friend. I'm cool with that.
How's that for a major cool praise for God.:-)
We need to keep his girlfriend in prayer. She has some grwoing and maturing to do, as does her boy friend. They don't seem to balance each other. I guess 'unevenly' yoked is descriptive. Pray that if they should be together that God will knit them together stronger then ever and heal hearts and lives. If they aren't ment for each other, that He'd help them find their life mate. The girlfriend really needs Jesus in her life. She truly doesn't know or understand how much God loves her. She has a lot of insecurites stemming from a very very hurtful past. Much pain is in her being and only God can heal her IF she lets him help her. I'm also praying I can get through to her.

I had to spend some time in this thread, after popping in the "random thoughts" thread and seeing where it's heading. Hang in there, Mynn, we'll be praying. I'm about to go through a very rough time at work. As excited as I am about the national elections, my boss is on his way out now and we're getting a new Sheriff in January. Everything seems like it's going to be turned upside down and I don't know what my job, rank, schedule, or pay will be then, but it doesn't look good. I'm a part of a 16 year regime that they want to sweep away, I'm afraid. I remind myself that the same God that was merciful to us in this national election is the God Who ordained this local election. Time to put my money where my mouth is.

Although I strongly disagree that any mercy was shown with Bush being re-elected, I hope the Force is with you in your troubles at work.

HEy everyone, I thought I would drop by here and add a prayer request. My brother, sister-in-law, and 7yr nephew just had to move back home with my parents and I. They are staying in my "Star Wars" den, which was the largest of the two reg. rooms (not that it is large though). My bro does not have a job and is very selective in where he can look because he wouldn't not be able to pass a drug test. I am praying that maybe it will finally get through his head that smokin weed is messing up his life. If he doesn't get a job and move out soon and back to the other side of town then my nephew will have to switch schools. I think that would be one too many changes in his little life. My sis-in law is also looking for a job and has the same problem with smokin weed. Both of them need to start acting their age. They still act like teenagers even though 30 is approaching fast. Any prayers for them would be greatly appreciated, and prayers that my parents and I will have patience and keep our sanity.

That's too bad about their drug habits. I had a teacher who was addicted to pot (she was in her late 40's). Subsequently, her daughters (one my age, the other a year older) became addicted as well. Now I'm pretty sure her 12 year old son is puffing the magic dragon too. It's really too bad. They just have to learn that while it may allow them to forget about their problems for the short term, in the end it will cause problems, not solve them.
