I'm a newbie so please bear with me. I ordered these pants from Land's End, I think they'll work. What does everyone think? www.landsend.com/cd/ov/prod/0,,2_17273_17278_30821_111404_89846_9:view=589,00.html?sid=8137113543765139630&CM_MERCH=SRCH Also, how is it getting a karate gi jacket as a tunic? I've heard that being done, no? Then, I just have to work on a belt, tabard and obe. I'm open to any ideas. Thanks!

Yes, those would be good. People have used a gi as a Jedi tunic. It's not ideal as far as looking like what was in the movies, but one starts where one can in this costuming habit! Don't spend a lot of money on it as it may only be a stop-gap as you're short of time now. In future, with more time you can re-do it. Here's a good reference. We will soon have our own tutorials on the main TJA site. Watch for them any day now, per the webmaster! www.rebellegion.com/jedigarb/

I think I'd go with the plain pants, instead of the cargo pants.

I've seen teh gi done. It can look decent. That's what my son has for now, but on;y because he is growing so fast I don't want to have to keep making him new tunics every couple of months! So the gi is cost effective for me (can get them off ebay really cheap!) The problem I had with this one is the dye didn't turn out too well so it's more brown than tan. But since he's got a black belt and black boots right now, it looks decent. Kind of Anakin-ish. Those who will be at C3 Saturday will probably see him in it. I'm gonna try to get a picture posted before Wednesday.

I went with the elastic cargo pants since I figure they would be more comfortable than regular dockers. I wear them all week to work. I'll see how the pants feel when I get them. Thanks for the tips!
