I have searched through the threads and can't find any reference to this pattern so I figured I would share. My mom, the master seamstress, spent several hours at Hobby Lobby last week going through their pattern books. She found McCalls #4007 and though it would work perfect for the undertunic. On Friday we went to Hobby Lobby and Hanc*cks to buy the material I had found. Being the smart seamstress that she is and having a LOT of muslim material, she made a sample set of tunics out of it. The outer tunic still need work (We used the Simplicity #17502), but the under tunic was perfect. We had to make the sleeves a lot longer of course, but it fit perfect. We also changed the direction it wraps over, since it should be left over right. I am very pleased with how it came out. I have the materail now for 3 costumes. My mom is going to try to alter the outer tunic so it fits me a little better. I am on my way to getting ready for CIII! ;D BTW I made a tutorial for how I make my Jedi Costumes: Step 1: Have a very talented seamstress for a mom Step 2: Begin bribing mom (see step 1) Step 3: Reward mom (see step 1) And that is all there is to it ;D

That's what I thought too... But no, not free... the adobe reader is the free download. The info you get when you "click here" is just the specs... body measurements and stuff.
That's a great pattern... looks pretty easy to make. And your tutorial is the best I've seen yet! ;D

Those are very good looking patterns; thanks for posting the info! I'll have to look for them next time I'm out shopping.
I think that a lot of liberties might be taken with the under tunic, since so little of it can be seen in the films. Basically, all you're sure of is close fitting, long sleeves and a V, overlapping neckline.

I do them 3 different ways, 1. Total undertunic, like a Gi 2. Just a neckband inside the outer neckband, but wider & a second pr. of sleeves sewn inside the 1st pair 3. A shirt that is a pullover, w/ a V neckband that looks like the Gi, and sleeves, very similar to the gauze shirt on Anakin in the scene as he's meditating & Padme comes out to talk about his nightmare. They all work, because you only ever see the neckband & sleeves, the 2nd variation cuts out most of a layer in a tunic that is already lined in the top half from the waist up.

Nova, do you use a pattern for the pullover version you mentioned?

I haven't had any of my tunics lined. Don't need any extra layers. Also I wanted a undertunic that my still look acurate if I was only wearing it. During my campout for ep II there were a few times during the day that I had to take off all layers except the undertunic, which at the time was a simply khaki v-neck shirt. Here in East Texas it get very hot in mid may. In fact if you look at my pics from then you see how we all got sunburned and windburned too. I would feel more in costume with this pattern as an undertunic. Plus it fit me perfecting. It is baggy feeling, which is not comfortable as the bottom layer of an outfit.
I am on a hunt for some good chocolate brown for an undertunic like Obi-Wan's in Ep III. I have some great crinkled cotton I found for the outer tunic. I think that his costume in Ep III is a great combination of colors. BTW I love the pics in the Vanity Fair magazine.

Not on this one, it was a shirt that I had that got stained, so, I turned it into a different shirt, made a great undertunic. Under the tunic, you can't tell what the style really is, looks just about like the others.
