I use fitted legging with most of mine, I just like the look & they are easier to get in the boots, but when I get my new revised boots thet will no longer be an issue, I'm having them custom modified by Ashton, YAY, I spoke to him on Mon. and am awaiting some designs from him, and they will be adjustable in the legs! YEAH!
As for the osnaburg, it's a bit heavier than you might want the undertunic to be, but, it's a good weight for a summer robe, and after a couple of washing it should be soft & flowy, but make sure you prewash it 1st! As for pants, I think the fabric will ravel at all the rub spots and shred between the legs in the seat as it's a fairly loose weave, not bad if you aren't going to wear them alot, but it's easier to by a pair of khaki's, and they will last longer.
Mon Jas, I think I know where you can get some fitted leggings that will fit you in a good shade of brown, about $7 a pair, only question, how tall are you? What is your waist & rise? If you want, PM me with that, I'll let you know if they will fit, easy enought to pick some up, I shop there pretty often.

[shadow=red,left,300] Schph,
I have been using PJs, womans strech pants, Sweat pants, etc ... The best pair I have have are a dark green, but I want to get some tan or brown, for CIII just to be Canon.
Dockers would work, but my boots are too tight to tuck them in.
[/shadow] one thing you can do is take the dockers or khakis....cut the leg off a couple inches past where your boots come...and then sew on the bottom part of the stretchies with a stirrup strap on the bottom to keep the pants taught as you put your boots on....I did that with one of the pairs of pants for my Imperial Officer costume...it works out good....and the stirrup will keep everything in place... also....if you have a bootmaker/shoe repair person near your home...you can have your leather boots stretched.....even a little helps....

All good suggestions ... Alas, I have Cadette Boots that I have had to split down the back about 6 inches to get them to work ... I hope to get new leather boot before CIII. All I need is Money.

oopsss....sorry I didn't read that far back.... but great minds think alike.... Yes we do Although you did state the idea much better anyway About the boots, yeah money is always an issue on boots. I picked up a nice pair of custom made harness boots off eBay for about a hundred bucks... very good price for custom boots which is good since my calves won't fit into most standard boots The guy has auctions up all the time so if you find some money and want to check him out, I can look up the eBay id. It took about 4 weeks to get mine and he makes several different style of boots from equestrian to engineer and a bunch of others.

e-bay is still my #1 pick for a place to find boots... both my Jedi boots and my Imperial Officer boots are from e-bay....and I love them both....and they both fit like a dream....and were really cheap....
It sometimes takes a month or so of looking...but eventually you will find a perfect pair of boots...

my Jedi boots only costed my $26.00.....real leather...and to the knee...
I wore them just as purchased for a year....then I took them to a local leatherworker and had him add the three straps at the top like Obi-Wan...and a strap around the ankle..... those modifications by the leatherworker were $60.00....
My Imperial Officer boots (also a dead on replica of Han Solo boots) cost me $35.00.....real leather....to the knee...

Imperial boots are a problem for me. They don't make German jack boots small enough.

As I understand it....German Jack Boots are the ones that X-wing pilots wear...which are shorter than the style usually worn by Imperial Officers....
I purchased a pair of real german jack boots (I was going to do an X-wing pilot...but decided not to) and they are indeed shorter than the kind worn by the Officers...

About dying Osnaburg......it doesn't take bleach that evenly, either. So I washed it again with Rit Whitener. And then with more bleach. That helped a lot, with only a few, pale, uneven spots left. In general, if a color comes out unevenly, you can wash it again with bleach or whitener and that will even things out. Of course, you'll likely have to start over again with the dye because the color has mostly gone.
I think what happened was that I had too many yards of it (10) in the washing machine. There was just too much fabric for it not to bunch up in places and not take the bleach evenly.
But after a couple of washings the Osnaburg softens up and the weave tightens up just right for a Jedi tunic.

Careful with the chlorine tho, it will weaken the fabric if you use to much. Yes, the most likely problem was a crowed machine. If using a top loader at home, you can stop the cycle and let it set longer & stir it aroud and move it so that all the areas are evenly exposed, hanging in the sun is good too, it will continue the bleaching. The nat. colour of osnaburg is a great colour for a tunic though.
