An inner tunic is that garment under on overtunic and over that overtunic go the tabbards. From what you're showing us, you are not doing an inner tunic at all but using this jacket as the outer layer. It certainly isn't the standard Jedi, but it looks OK.

I think that it's different, but might be interesting when finished.

heres my thinking, im a big custom fan, im also a member of mandalorian mercs costuming group, so customs are big for me, and i was looking through some member pictures, and they are all great looking tunics and robes, but very few are differant, so i was thinking that if i came up with a good enough idea that didnt looked bad, then i would throw it to you and hopefully get it approved. I was hoping your restriction on differences, save movie related differences, on tunics would not get me denied. So approved, or like wait until it is finished until we decide?

I don't know about approval, but that shirt looks like it would be a big warm. And I'd take the buttons off. They would show under the tabbards.
Also, are you planning on having an over tunic under the tabbards? I'm sure you would need that for approval.

the jacket is the outer tunic, the tabbards are going to button on the inside of the tabbards hence covering up the buttons and keeping the tabbards still

Hi Lan, well, you probably have to wait until it's finished for approval, but chances are pretty good. Usually they're turned down for other reasons, like they just don't look like a Jedi, or colour. Many of us have more than one and the one on the members gallery is usually the most traditional or the first one. Also the sanctioned LFM events frequently want the John Q Public version of a Jedi. But you should finish for yourself, whether it gets approved or not, you must like it first and formost. I am looking forward to seeing it when it's finished.

oh thank you Nova thats my plan, i was going to do it regardless, but it would be nice to be approved and have more costuming friends, i just love having a costuming group thats like a family, like i am with the mercs they are my family and i know if i need anything they'll try their hardest to help me out, so thats the reasoning for wanting the approval.

Your idea actually reminds me of the (i think this is the right reference) EU jedi. Their tunics seem to be a tighter more form fitting look and most of them appear (at least in the pics i have seen) to be more so leather than fabric.

thank you, thats kind of what i was going for, i just like a little diversity in costuming, thats why i dont really like stormtroopers or many things like that, so i thought go with what is me, and that is weird/original lol

It's very EU, and some of them are very cool, and many are acceptable. I still look forward to seeing it complete.

The jacket is really cool but I would suggest covering the top of the pants somehow... either by adding a draping fabric to the hem of it or simply wearing different pants that dont look like a pair of jeans. Also, if you decide to go with form fitting pants to top, wear the belt at the same place as the waist of the pants. It will fit together well that way.
