Hello all!
new Assembly hopeful
I have had my jedi costume for over a year now (maybe over two), but most of the accessories were store bought or bought online. My lightsaber was a hardware saber...a knockoff from the Big Yellow Box, and my belt was the shiny pleather Official Licensed Anakin that was about 15 dollars.
Since that time I have been slowly going through revisions to upgrade my costume, and once my current projects are complete, I will be applying for membership.
I've got a full leather belt coming in from Costume Base (I'm no good at leather), and I just got in a pair of Military Riding Cavalry Boots in brown from Eastern Coast Costumes, suggested by The Padawan's Guide.
The biggest improvement is my saber, which is still in the works currently, with about 4 different shipments incoming before I can complete it. I will be making a lithium ion battery pack for it, for plenty of runtime, and it will be illuminated by a Luxeon Rebel Green. Sound and effects from an Obi Wan driver board from a 2010 Hasbro saber.
-----------------------------------------------------
My Jedi costume is designed to be extremely generic, with a lot less emphasis on individual personality, and more dedication to the order and it's ideals. The colors are standard, but I am trying to invert the usual combinations, like darker leather pouches and lighter colored belt, etc.
I am working on a prosthetic arm/ glove, but the one I have right now is the 12 dollar anakin arm, which I am not happy with. I would like to investigate options down the road to have my own glove made with it's own pattern for this costume.
The saber is designed to enforce a cutting of the ego/individual and focus the mind on the larger picture. As such it has very traditional angles and decoration, and an engraving of the Jedi symbol surrounding the activation switch.
