i am currently in the process of painting a resin replica of Anakin's saber from ROTS. i just had a few ? is anyone could help me.
1.) i am concerned whether or not they they make a paint that looks equivalent to chrome and if so can you recommend one to me 2.) what would be the best way to go about painting the saber. chrome paint first then layer on the black, gold, red, paints etc for the detail and then finally seal with clear coat (just my initial thoughts).
3.) is a resin lightsaber allow in a costume for acceptance per the code?
any help and advice will me much appreicated
Thanks, Hoyt

Do you have any spare bits of resin to practice on? I would start with either model paint, or spray paint made specifically for plastic. Use any extra bits of resin you have to try it out first.
Paint the larger areas first. Let it dry completely, days if you need to. Then cover the areas around the other parts of it painters' tape and apply other colors.
Have you considered aluminum tape or shiny silver contact paper? It's not bad for touch up for small areas.
