Greetings To All, I have been re-watching The Clone Wars on my iPod while I am listening to a podcast and I have come to the conclusion that the Clones rock.
Now I know a lot of those here are also in the 501st and RL so I have a question for you all. But first I want to say that my first love will always be Jedi. Anyways, I was curious if one wanted to join a group and get armor made for them what are the options.
I mean I am sure there are makers out there but I am wondering how often a third party is used. Also I was curious about costs and all that. I thank you all for your time.

I personally have no idea. However, there are some here who have armor, so maybe they can help. I don't think there is a third party involved. You have to be connected to the 501st to find out how to acquire armor. Try posting at the RL in the Clone Trooper section if there is one. They would know.................. Yes, they have Clones at the RL.

Yep, you need to check with either your local 501st or RL base to get armor. Do not go through a 3rd party vendor (there are a few on eBay)! Armor from a 3rd party is usually not acceptable in the 501st for membership. Sign up on the local boards for either of those groups, introduce yourself, and let them know what you are interested in. I would also recommend becoming a handler for your local 501st Garrison or squad. That way they can get to know you. Once they know a little about you, they will help you find an armor maker...they do not advertise these people directly, so you will need to do some searches and ask around. But do so PRIVATELY, through PM's. DO NOT log on the boards and then post a question about armor makers...you will probably not get a good response. The policy of most Garrisons is to get to know the new person first, and then communicate who to get armor from either personally or through a PM. This is to avoid problems with LFL, since the 501st is not allowed to publicly advertise who their armor makers are. Clones are both expensive and harder to make than a stormtrooper. My clone cost me around $1000-1200 to do, and I didn't even get the best armor kit!! However, it is worth it, and the kids love clones. ;D

There are many ways to learn the ways of the Force, but only those who have joined it may know best.
