Had a buddy in my Dr. Steel group help me with this The latest addition to my Star Wars paraprenalia! I present, Steampunk Saber hilt! The blue is the emitter where the blade will come out.Its also hard to see, but the copper wire actually attaches to the button so it looks like when the button is pressed, it would emit the blade The original looked like this: Anyone remember that old saber of mine?

Think H.G. Wells and Jules Verne... brass and gears and ray guns and airships
"The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often set in Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date. Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken" of such technology as dirigibles or analog computers; these frequently are presented in an idealized light, or with a presumption of functionality."

Wow, steampunk is just everywhere. Jedi are a little steampunk-ish already, but the lightsaber makes it moreso. Very nice, Jedimom.

A couple of friends of mine dressed in steampunk attire last Halloween. I got interested in the genre, so I decided to make a steampunk blaster. When I showed them the prototype, they practically begged me to make ones for them. It's amazing what you can do if you walk through Home Depot with an open mind.

Cool. Both the saber and the pistols. Steampunk just seems, to me at least, to fit so well with the Star Wars/Jedi style.
Is that leather on the hilt near the pommel, Jedimom? Looks awesome whatever it is, the whole thing.

Yea, its leather. Not wrapped exactly straight, but still looks good. And real brass, which is a staple of steampunk.
