I'm diving into this head first, and I just want to make sure I'm on the right track. I'm making a Sia-Lan Wezz costume, based on an Adam Hughes drawing. I'm done with the tabards, and belt. I just finished my robe, and I'll begin work on the pants and shirt next week. I'm really pleased with how it is turning out, but I just need some feedback from experts. The belt is laced in the back with natural, braided yarn so it can fit my curves properly. There's a picture of my boots at the bottom. I'll be adding the knee guards soon. Any comment or suggestion is welcome! Thanks! (sorry the pictures are HUGE!)

Nicely done. The tabbards look like they might be a little too wide, depending on the width of your shoulders.
That's a very nice effect on the obi. How did you do it?
I don't know the character. The color looks gray. If you're making this for TJA membership, we don't allow gray unless there is documentation of the color.....from the code: "In general, EU costume colors, including bright white and gray, are NOT acceptable, unless you are specifically replicating a character's costume. Please see #6 below for additional details on EU costumes."

I've seen picture sof her in the old D-20 roleplay system for Star Wars. her gear looked pink and lavendar, but you can easily do it in creams , tans etc. Kai, I think she'd folded the obi sewed it then put the fasteners. That rucked look seems like the method used to get the look of Obi Wan's under tunic's collar.

Thanks for the kind words, everybody! I realize that this specific character's costume is a little different from a normal jedi's, and truthfully there isn't a lot of information on her. I've read through the costuming standards, and I'm a little concerned about my colors. The pieces that I already have done are actually a more dark lilac/purple color, but I did use a lot of grey in dying them to get the color. Also, you will notice in the drawing that she's holding her robe - and it's very grey. I've got my robe done now, and it's grey. I don't know if it can count even though it's an exact color match to the drawing. It's a tough job because there are really only 3 reference pictures for me to go off of, and no documentation of her outfit. Many of you might have seen her in the SW RPG book, too (as the Jedi Knight), but I'm not very comfortable with the way the colors are in that picture. I much prefer the more muted tones of the Adam Huges drawing. Any suggestions/comments - specifically from the council?

I'd suggest making two costumes. SInce you already have one nearly complete to match the drawing you prefer, and a 2nd costume in the earth tone colours for TJA membership. That way, you've two costumes to wear at cons with mix and matchable pieces. :-) From what I'd seen of the boots, they'll easily go with an earth tone costume without a problem.

Wow. I really like the look of that outfit! In the reference photos it looks lavender. I think as long as there are sources for your costume, you should be okay. Don't quote me on that, though, LOL. Will have to check the Code again. ::runs off::
Okay, here is the Code for EU costumes: Expanded Universe: Any exact replica of a Jedi costume from the Expanded Universe is acceptable ONLY after Council review. Members must cite their source (book and page number) as to what Jedi wore that particular costume, and submit it the Jedi Council for approval. This source MUST contain a full description of the costume, and it must indicate what each piece of the costume looks like in terms of color or style. If only one piece of the costume is described, then ONLY that piece will be acceptable. For example, if a description of an EU Jedi states that they wear blue tabbards, then the remainder of the costume must look like a "screen-accurate" Jedi costume in terms of style and color (browns and tans). Action figures are acceptable as a source for an EU costume; however, the figure must be produced by a Lucasfilm licensed source such as Hasbro. Custom actions figures are NOT acceptable as a costume source. Please note that costumes that specifically replicate an EU Jedi which have been accepted for membership may not be acceptable for certain events.
