My question is simple. I want to recreate general Obi Wan in clone armor, but I don't like the white boots and i still want to join the assembly. so I was wondering if I could use knee high black boots? they don't have zippers or laces (they are not cowboy boots they are replica boots from the 16th century). other then that I would not want to change anything. He is wearing all black under the armor and the armor overlaps the boots. I just think It would look better. I bought them for renaissance re-enactment. I tryed to post a pic but couldnt from that site. there from sword of honor.

Actually, he's wearing brown under the armor....that's the hard part of replicating this costume as the underarmor worn by 501st is black and it's very hard to find brown.

I Have a pic of a statue of Obi in clone armor he has a brown cloak and black underarmor on. I got the pic from the site that it is sold from. so I doubt its altered. Was it brown in the series and they just got the statue wrong?

In the comic book it is brown. I think in the Cartoon Network cartoon it is balck, but in the new Clone Wars 3D I think it is also brown. Brown is what I would go for to make it really "Jedi"
Try the under armor website for brown. i found it there once

the statue is just wrong. General Kenobi has a brown undersuit. In any case, Undearmor (the company) makes what is used as undersuit in various colorations, plus there are other alternatives. As for boots, according to the Jedi Code www.thejediassembly.com/jedicode.phpsection V www.thejediassembly.com/jedicode.php?art=valineas 3 and 6 states that if you want to replicate a characters you need to do it specifically (no alterations or customization) that, in my mind, means that you cannot apply for a recreation of General Kenobi from the Clones Wars era with boots that are not white. plus, in my humble opinion, it will look wrong with coloured boots. However, its the Jedi Council that has final word, but in general reading the Code gives you a good impression of what their answer will be.
