Like the activators on the sabers in TPM... Anyone know where it's possible to get them?

WOW! I didn't even notice the price! That's ridiculous!
If it were me, I'd get a regular thumb screw that shape and paint it with red nail polish.
Something like this from mcmaster.com is only $3.65, in stainless steel, no less.

I wasn't too phased by the price, to be honest... I'd pay $10 for an LED lens or 13 trace circuit board, and although the knob is smaller, it'd be performing the same function on the saber, and being anodized, wouldn't have the paint rub off. I'll have a think and see how the design looks with both kinds of activator

Just ordered one of the red knobs and one of the brass units for my new saber Even though it was only intended as a means of using up a few leftover lengths of materials (and of course the saber for my new costume) I have a feeling that when it's completed, it's going to be a perfect example of a traditional Jedi lightsaber from TPM

Just FYI, Romans knob is based off a real part, in fact the EXACT part used in the prequels for the sabers..so 12 is fairly reasonable actually.

well, it depends. If you're doing a replica saber, this knob might be a deal. But for a custom, you can get cheaper similar knobs that will do the trick. Its always a question of perspective.

Well really it depends more on what you want. I had one of Romans old ones on a saber and it helped alot. I like these buttons Plus the size and the fact that its metal makes it pretty cool Customs don't need to settle for any ole part

Well really it depends more on what you want. I had one of Romans old ones on a saber and it helped alot. I like these buttons Plus the size and the fact that its metal makes it pretty cool Customs don't need to settle for any ole part As Justin said, customs don't need to settle for any old part 'that might do', it's a case of what you want on a custom saber. Personally, even if I'm not replicating a specific design, I like to keep elements like activators/grips/covertec knobs etc as accurate as possible, because that adds to the overall realism of a custom saber. A person will obviously not recognize the design, but they will recognize the parts, and I feel that helps with the overall look of the saber Also, when it comes to costs, I look at comparison rather than size. I'd pay $18 in all to order a $10 LED lens as an activation plate, so paying $12 plus postage, really isn't that much when compared against the cost of the other
