from the site design and content I'd say it's a recent emergence in the saber making market.
interesting stuff......and he apparently machines the hilts.

I contacted him about a price and he quoted me 170 because i made some modifications. I really like one of the designs and just want to make sure that this saber making vergence is a good one and not one of the dark side.

what does everyone think about this idea? I was going to contact him. Let him know I'm interested in buying a hilt from him. I've been asking around now for about a month and no one has heard or knows anything about him. Ill see if he will offer me a discount, and if his product is good then ill pump him here and trhough out all the boards. Best advertisement is from a person within the comunity that supprots the work. Ill take pics of what ever i get and let everyone know what i think. If it works out he may be a new source for sabers. What are everyones thoughts on bargining price for promotion?

Well, if you're going to be advertizing his work, then it's only fair that he discount your piece (if not do it totally free) as it is saving him that cost in marketing. If I ever do work for people that I know will make good advertizing, I never charge them, unless they absolutely insist on payment, and then I'll just accept something like a DVD rather than cash, as I know what I've done for them will be advertizing

I emailed him the other day for a price quote on a plain, no detail, belt prop hilt and he said that it would range from 90 to 100...

Would that light up? I have to admit, that's pretty pricey for something with no detail, and if it doesn't feature electronics, I'd suggest looking at RandomSabers (never thought I'd say that to anyone ;D )

LOL it's ok Tanzan I would say the same thing It's not that I dislike the works that come out of RandomSabers as such, as they are fantastic, but I just feel a Jedi should make their own lightsaber as a test of their skill.

I agree with you Tanzan, Jedi should build their own saber. Untill then you can never surpass the early padawaan life. But since i have made several hilts for myself i feel deeply intuned with my skills. But since Im looking to do this for my Revan costume, i think the quick and easy path is best. lol. Plus can't complain about getting a cheap saber just to say hey listen i vouch for this guys work.
Yet, if it sucks and the saber is shotty, trust me when i say that this guy flammed to no end in boards. Im a member of nearly every SW fan board and if im not on one im sure someone is reading my posts somewhere checking up my rants. It wouldnt be long until every jedi knew to stay away.
Alas, i hope it works out because i really like one of the designs and it fits so well with what im working on.

Ahh, if it's for a specific [character] costume, then it probably would be easier to get it made for you, and if you think the guy's up to the task, then go for it I know what you mean about becoming more intune with your skills and moving past the padawan stage once you've completed a saber. My curved hilt took quite a while to do (partly due to ordering parts) but also down to the intricacy of the work, that just couldn't be rushed by hand. The DIY Graflex I made though, I did in about 5-6 hours (if that) and other than concentrating on what I was doing so as not to make any blade slips, was operating pretty much on auto-pilot ;D
