I was thinking the other day about a concealed saber. (yes it's not a very honorable, jedi-like thing to do but its still and idea) Now being the visual thinker I am I doubt I can explain it well but I'm gonna try. Firstly the saber to be concealed would have to be small, quite possibly only a one hander. You would start with a small (but fairly wide) leather rectangle made of medium stiffness leather. two the short sides you would sew on two small straps that buckle around your the top of your lower arm. to the inside of these straps (but on the other side of the leather rectangle) you would sew in a smaller pair of shorter straps that would have snaps on them. The other half of of the snaps would be attached to the rectangle. These straps would have to fit pretty snug-ly to the saber. Now with that contraption you would strap thing onto your arm (that you don't have your saber hand attached to) under your tunic (or under-tunic if you have one). Then you would snap in the saber to be concealed. Here comes the cool part. When you have been captured and your saber taken away, you would cross your arms and insert your hands into the sleeve of the opposite arm. With your saber hand, and VERY CAREFULLY AND SUBTLY, unfasten the snaps and let the saber fall into your hand, and then BOOYAH! Whaddya all think?

hmmm interesting yet it gives me an idea. Keeping the idea of the one handed saber but putting it emitter outward on both underarms, and make it so you can push the activation switch without pulling the saber out and have like saber arms.(if anyone has played mortal kombat and seen the reptillian guy called Baraka who has these bone like swords that come out of his arms thats what i mean. Kind of wolverine style of fighting-lightsaber bracers of i may say so my self)
Or if you are a technical genious, and have seen the guy on alien resurection with dreadlocks he has these metal bracers that hold small pistols and at a twitch of the wrist he can move the guns out and slide into his hands)

There was one guy at CIII that had made saber gauntlets...which as for me have been around in some online RPG for at least nine years now. (created by Aden Nak, WBS Star Wars Cantina (before it had a name))

Really good risk of losing your fingers/hands with such a set up.

A lightsaber is a Jedi's life, according to Obi-Wan. I don't think any Jedi would have a spare on them unless they regularly use two.

It's not dishonourable at all to be prepared. In fact it was because the order did NOT adapt to the times is what got them destroyed so easily. Knowing me, I'd have a small hold out saber tucked into the sleeve of my under tunic. The fabric is bunched around the wrists so it'd not be seen anyway. The perfect size for a hold out weaon would be the .45 scale sabers Master Replicas has. The Mace Windu version I have can be tucked through my watch's wrist band, the sleeve fabric completely covers it.

Were I a Jedi I'd probably carry four or five different kinds, all best at something specific. Like, have one really long and wide for fighting against blasters, have another one thinner and shorter with a longer handle for fighting, maybe have two small ones in my sleeves (as said) for not only concealment of extras, but incase I'd like to fight with two, and then one all around good sabre, not specilized so that I could use it for basically anything I needed. Of course, I'm really paranoid and tend to over do it. "...size matters not." "...strength matters not." "For MY ally is the Force." I can't see Jedi as SF "gunslingers" swaggering around looking for a fight. Considering how much they practice with the sabers one ought to be more than enough for just about any situation. Closest I've read about would be the Dual Phase sabers (Splinter of the mind's Eye, etc.)

With regards to concealed sabers... Palpatine seemed to get on okay with a concealed one, but, that was most likely because he couldn't be seen to be carrying a lightsaber. In reality, wrist concealed weapons can be problematic, as they're as likely to either fall out under normal conditions, or not 'appear' when required, as they've caught in the sleeve
