Actually those belts are real easy to make. From the research I have done those belts are 1 3/4" wide (most people argue that they are 2 inches) - so really all you need is: Thats about it. but there is always the alternative to buy a belt instead of make 1 - I do make custom belts. Here is a pic of a Luke ROTJ Style: I know it looks backwards but remember it is a custom and I made it so that it would function just like a regular belt you would put on with your pants Here is the link to the close up gallery for that belt - www.saberbelt.com/PROTBGallery.htmlHope this helps ;D Dave

The Han Solo belt is not that simple, the buckle arrangement is pretty complicated. For a buckle.

See - I knew I forgot something - yea those Han Buckles are a pain to do - but I am working on it I have a Luke ANH that I am finishing up - should have pics for you to look at soon. It is kind of funny - I actually didn't mean to do the ANH belt but I was working on a custom for a customer and put the saber hook on the wrong way - so either I needed someone with a left handed draw or the belt was a wasted piece of leather. At the urging of my wife I kept the belt and after a few days of looking at pics I determined it would be a good candidate for a ANH belt - so I put it together. It just needs the dye job and it will be all set. I promise I will have pics soon Dave

You're going to be making the Solo buckle Dave? Cool! When you've finished, it should be awsome, if your other past projects are any indication.
I've made my own version of the Luke/Han belt. I made a curved "drop-down" strap that is more feminine looking with the way it curves over my hip.
And I made it modular to that I can use different holsters or remove the drop-down strap and have the belt look more in the Luke style, like when I want to wear it with my future X-Wing costume.
I stamped a design on the belt to make it a bit more personal and destinctive.
I also made it in 2 parts with lots of snaps in the back, in case I ever wanted to wear it over somthing bulky like Han does with his belt over his thick coat in ESB. Or maybe I just did it because I like all those shiny nickel plated snaps.
Anyway, here are some pictures showing my custom rig. Dave's already seen my work, but perhaps some others would like to see it as well. What the heck, I just like to show off my work!f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jediloreen/album?.dir=/Leather+Work&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jediloreen/my_photos

I am still in the research stage for the buckles - I am doing it as a joint venture with a friend - he is going to do the belts and I am going to hopefully have the buckles made - hopefully I will have them soon
